IT’S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME

“It’s all about the game and how you play it.
All about control and if you can take it.
All about your debt and if you can pay it.
It’s all about pain and who’s gonna make it.
I am the game, you don’t want to play me.
I am control, no way you can change me.
I am heavy debt, no way you can pay me.
I am the pain and I know you can’t take me.”

The time has arrived.

The time for second-guessing is over.

The time for victory starts now.

Welcome to your fantasy football championship game!

Sixteen weeks of reading all of our articles, listening to our podcasts, interacting with us on social media, and of out hustling your opponents has led you to this. Even for those who are in the finals of their consolation rounds should understand the magnitude of Week 16. This is IT. Whether it’s for money, a trophy, draft seeding, or any or all of the above this week’s matchup will decide it all.

It’s been a pleasure helping to guide you to this point, and no matter the outcome this week I hope you all had a great time playing fantasy football this season!

Let’s get down to business.

**DISCLAIMER**

As always when discussing fantasy point production we’re referring to 0.5 PPR scoring.  IDP fantasy point scoring is solely based on our very own IDP scoring rubric which will be presented to you when we discuss IDPs later on in the article.

Here are my 4-EYED PREVIEWS for Week 16

Quarterbacks: The law firm of Tannehill, Fitzpatrick, and Trubisky will help you win you your case this week

Over the past 5 weeks played:

Ryan Tannehill

  • 4th in fantasy points scored per game by a QB (23.4)
  • 3rd in total touchdowns scored by a QB (14)
  • In Week 16, faces a Saints team that allows 19 fantasy points per game to QBs on the season

Ryan Fitzpatrick

  • 9th in fantasy points scored per game by a QB (19.4)
  • 6th in passing yards (1,426)
  • 4th in rushing yards (145)
  • In Week 16, faces a Bengals team that allows 20 fantasy points per game to QBs on the season

Mitch Trubisky

  • 7th in fantasy points scored per game by a QB (20.2)
  • 11th in passing yards (1384)
  • 7th in rushing yards (118)
  • 8th in total touchdowns scored (11)
  • In Week 16, faces a Chiefs team that allows 17.6 fantasy points per game to QBs on the season

Over the course of this season, whether in article form, on our weekly podcast, and/or on Twitter you have heard all of us at Fantasy In Frames talk about how there are times when the components for the perfect storm arrive at the right time from a fantasy football perspective. You’ve DEFINITELY heard from me about the concept of Time, Space, and Place and how they pertain to success. Well, these three quarterbacks mentioned just now are in all three and are in a great position to help win you a fantasy football championship. Start them with confidence.

Running Back: Adrian Peterson will help deliver for you one last fantasy football championship

Over the past 7 weeks played:

Adrian Peterson

  • Has averaged 11.4 fantasy points per game (RB23)
  • Has averaged 4.9 yards per game (RB19)
  • Has ran for 411 yards (RB11)

Over the past 3 weeks played:

  • Has averaged 15.4 fantasy points per game (RB14)
  • Has ran for 241 yards (RB10)
  • Has 4 total touchdowns (RB3)

The man just keeps getting better as the season wears on and with no competition to steal away carries Peterson will shoulder the load against a Giants team this week that allows 18.1 fantasy points per game to running backs. FLEX this future real and fantasy football Hall Of Famer this week and reap the rewards.

Wide Receiver: Courtland Sutton will help shine a bright light on your fantasy championship hopes

Courtland Sutton, with Drew Lock at QB, has averaged 12.4 fantasy points per game, tallied a team-leading 22 targets, 187 receiving yards, and 2 TDs. He is CERTAINLY Lock’s favorite target and in Week 16 going against a Lions team that just got lit-up by the Bucs and are allowing 26.6 fantasy points per game to WRs make sure you have Sutton in your starting lineup this week. PLEASE make sure you do!

Tight End: Jacob Hollister. Start Him

The Seahawks are taking on the Cardinals this week. The Cardinals give up an average of 13.6 fantasy points per game to tight ends on the season.  The Cardinals are as much of a sure thing for tight end scoring as a porn star is for tight end scoring. Go with Jacob Hollister this week.

Defensive End: John Simon will lead New England’s pass rush on Sunday as well as lead your team to victory this week

Starting defensive end of the Patriots, John Simon, hasn’t had the most consistent productivity on the season this year, but against QBs who like to scramble out of the pocket, he has played fairly well. When going up against the likes of Josh Allen, Daniel Jones, Carson Wentz, and DeShaun Watson Simon has tallied 17 total tackles, a sack, an interception, and most importantly in those 4 games has averaged 8.7 fantasy points per game which is sneaky good for a defensive lineman. The last time the Pats played the Bills he put up 6 total tackles, 1 sack, and 13.75 fantasy points. Look for Simon to be an under the radar DL that you can start in championship week.

Defensive Back: Sam Beal will continue to produce in his second start at cornerback for the Giants

I’m just going to paste in what I said in my 4-EYED OBSERVATIONS this week about Beal. Nothing has changed since then:

Sam Beal, who took over for Janoris Jenkins at cornerback,  in Week 16 and WOW did he put on a football and fantasy football performance. He played more like a strong safety than a cornerback this past week with his 11 total tackles (8 solo/3 assisted). Again, folks, it comes down to opportunity. Being the new kid on the block in that Giants secondary he is likely to get targeted early and often by opposing offenses. What does that mean? More opportunities for tackle and passes defensed production. Start him against my Redskins inexperienced quarterback this week and reap the rewards.”

Linebacker: The old man keeps getting it done for Dallas

Linebacker Sean Lee, since filling in for injured second-year player Leighton Vander Esch, has played lights out recently. He’s second at LB on the team in total tackles with 8, has one sack, one passes defensed, one interception, and has averaged 13.2 fantasy points per game. The last time Dallas took on the Eagles Lee tallied 7 total tackles for 11.3 fantasy points. Roll with Lee this week.

Those are my 4-EYED PREVIEWS for WEEK 16!

Good luck this week, folks!

I hope all of you win your #4EYEDtitles this week and cherish your victory as much as Hulk Hogan did at Wrestlemania 9.
