IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 9 (2023)

IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 9 (2023) | Fantasy In Frames

Welcome to our ninth IDP Waiver Wire article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!

As I did for Week 8, I will use FantasyPros Expert Consensus Rankings to base my weekly recommendations for players to roster. I believe using this method of identifying waiver recommendations will benefit people in newbie leagues all the way through to the more advanced IDP-playing fantasy managers. Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 9 (2023) recommendations.

Cam Heyward

Week 9 ECR Rankings: Not Ranked

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: N/A

  • Having been sidelined this season due to injury, reports coming out of Pittsburgh are that Cam Heyward, an IDP goldmine at defensive tackle, could be returning as soon as this week. If he’s available on your league’s waiver wire, he is definitely a must-add.

Jermaine Johnson

Week 9 ECR Rankings: DL38

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL6 (19.8 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • Johnson II played like a man possessed this past week, posting an incredible 37.5% win rate and 31.3% pressure rate, along with posting six total tackles and two sacks, per PFF. His snap % has been the most consistent this season among Jets EDGE rushers. Combined with his efficiency, he could be reaching an every-week starting role on your IDP fantasy football team.

Keion White

Week 9 ECR Rankings: Not Ranked

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL74 (6.3 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • While his efficiency metrics were something left to be desired in Week 8, his snap percentages were on point. Combined with a solid matchup versus Washington’s offensive tackles, Keion White is a perfect matchup play this week.

Leo Chanal

Week 9 ECR Rankings: LB75

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB14 (18.0 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • With Willie Gay being injured, Leo Chanal played VERY well on Sunday. If Gay were to miss extended time, Chanal would be an immediate plug-and-play on your roster.

Jack Sanborn

Week 9 ECR Rankings: LB76

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB45 (11.3 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • With Tremaine Edmunds possibly missing extended time, everyone’s favorite linebacker from 2022 becomes fantasy-relevant once again. Make sure he’s not left on your waiver wire this week.

Blake Cashman

Week 9 ECR Rankings: LB23

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB24 (15.8 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • One of PFF’s highest-graded linebackers, Cashman’s performance and snap percentage make him a “set it and forget it” player in your linebacker spot on your roster!

Keanu Neal

Week 9 ECR Rankings: Not Ranked

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB23 (14.5 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • Playing a whopping 40.6% of box snaps on Sunday, Neal is the Steelers safety you want to start if Minkah misses any more time.

Elijah Molden

Week 8 ECR Rankings: Not Ranked

Week 7’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB100 (6.8 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • This will be a short-term fix on your roster until Terrell Edmunds takes over at box safety, but until that happens, Molden should have snap percentages on his side for producing for fantasy managers.

Markquese Bell

Week 9 ECR Rankings: DB77

Week 8’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB75 (8.3 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)

  • As a player that has dual eligibility at both linebacker and defensive back, Bell and his impressive tackle efficiency from Week 8 make him a cheat code for your defensive back spot on your fantasy rosters.
