2023 IDP Starts and Sits Week 7 | Fantasy In Frames

Welcome to our seventh IDP Start & Sit article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!

Hey everyone, it’s Nate Marcum!. Whether you’re newer to IDP or have been playing for years, my goal of these starts and sits is to provide you with stud picks I’m a huge fan of each week, from your top-tier players to play in your shallow leagues down to deeper league options. However, with the good picks come the ones I am less high on that you should consider alternatives for each week. You can check out my back-to-back Top 10 Fantasy Pros ECR Competition rankings here at Fantasy In Frames weekly to help give you the winning edge to your weekly matchups! Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Starts & Sits for Week 7 (2023).

Starts

KAYVON THIBODEAUX (NYG) V WASH

  • Season-High, Six Pressures, in Week 6
  • Albeit a limited sample size, Kayvon has a sack in each game played v WSH (Two sacks in two games)
  • In addition to the sacks, he also has 16 tackles and a TD vs WSH.
  • Washington has allowed the most sacks, and is only 2nd to the Giants in sack%

Chase Young (WSH) @ NYG

  • Justin Pugh is “straight off the couch” and back in as the Giants’ starting LT.
  • LG, Mark Glowinski is the NFLs most generous guard when allowing sacks on the season.
  • Chase Young’s 31 pressures are the 4th most, in only five games.
  • Young’s 28% win-rate only trails Myles Garrett

Gregory Rousseau (BUF) @ NE

  • Returned to action after missing Week 5 and paced the Bills’ pass-rushers in snaps and pressures
  • Matchups vs Vederian Lowe has been advantageous in 2023, as Lowe has allowed the 3rd most pressures in only 5 games.

Sit

Jadeveon Clowney (BLT) v DET

  • Matchup vs Penei Sewell
  • Sewell has gone 525 consecutive pass attempts without allowing a sack

Joey Bosa (LAC) @ KC

  • Bosa has logged back-to-back limited practices with a nagging toe injury
  • Bosa’s snaps have seen a reduction as the season has gone on, an indicator that work load management may be in the cards
  • KC has allowed 6 sacks on the season.  Mahomes is 33rd in the NFL in sacks taken

D.J. Wonnum (MIN) v SF

  • Filled in admirably for Marcus Davenport in Week 6.
  • Wonnum will matchup opposite Trent Williams.  Need I say more?

Start

Alex Anzalone (DET) @ BAL

  • Matchup against Baltimore is about as friendly as possible.
  • Baltimore has allowed double-digit scoring in each week to opposing LBs
  • Over the past two weeks, Anzalone has really stepped up and is 4th in solo tackles.

David Long (MIA) @ PHI

  • David Long holds PFF’s 2nd highest run defense grade (90.9)
  • The Eagles are the NFL’s 2nd most run-heavy offense.
  • Philadelphia has allowed some of the most points to opposing LBs.
  • The Eagles have contributed to the overall LB finishes
    • Week 3: LB6
    • Week 5: LB2
    • Week 6: LB6

Devin White (TB) v ATL

  • Looking for a “get right” game for White.
  • Four straight games without a double-digit tackle performance.
  • Atlanta allows the 8th highest sack rate in NFL.
  • Devin White is 9th in the NFL in blitzes (29)
  • Atlanta has allowed either double-digit tackles or a sack to opposing ILB in each game.

Sit

Jack Campbell (DET) @ BLT

  • Excellent tackle efficiency, but lack of snaps hinders upside
  • Derrick Barnes and Campbell are in a rotation that doesn’t appear to be settled anytime soon.

Nate Landman (ATL) @ TB

  • Fluctuation in snaps a little worrisome for production floor.
  • Tampa Bay has only allowed two LBs to have double-digit tackles

Divine Deablo (LV) @ CHI

  • There has been some instability in snap shares.
  • Chicago has only allowed two LBs to record double-digit tackles
  • Chicago’s offense will have trouble moving the ball, reducing Deablo’s tackle floor

Start

Camryn Bynum (MIN) v SF

  • Despite being the #2 DB in fantasy scoring (FantasyPros), he is still not mentioned enough as a “must-start”
  • San Francisco will move the ball, but explosive plays will be limited, providing more sustained drives.  Thus, leading to potentially more defensive snaps for Bynum

Taron Johnson (BUF) @ NE

  • Johnson has played more slot coverage snaps than anyone in the NFL
  • The New England Patriots pass to their slot at the 2nd highest rate of any team in NFL (39.2%)
  • Johnson had a 15 tackle performance in Week 6 vs NYG.  The Giants are the NFLs 6th highest slot targeted team

Brian Branch (DET) @ BLT

  • Returned to practice on Thursday and set to play in Week 7.
  • Branch leads Lions players in slot snaps
  • Baltimore targets receivers out of the slot at a 40% clip.
  • Branch was the DB7 before missing the past two weeks with injury.
  • Despite missing the past two weeks, he is still the DB36

Sit

Jevon Holland (MIA) @ PHI

  • Rather disappointing past three weeks: DB90
  • Production was incredible from weeks 1-3, as he was lined up more in the box at in the slot.  During that time: DB1
  • Philly is a wonderful matchup, so understandable if no better options

Julian Love (SEA) v ARI

  • Return of Jamal Adams buried Love to a backup role, with only 24 snaps in Week 6

Jerry Jacobs (DET) @ BLT

  • Spike weeks have come at the expense of heavy targets and interceptions
  • Should line up against Odell for the majority of the game, which limits the target upside.
  • Lamar has only thrown three interceptions, which reduces the ceiling for Jacobs
