Welcome to our sixth IDP Start & Sit article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
Hey everyone, it’s Nate Marcum (@natemarcum on Twitter/X). Whether you’re newer to IDP or have been playing for years, my goal of these starts and sits is to provide you with stud picks I’m a huge fan of each week, from your top-tier players to play in your shallow leagues down to deeper league options. However, with the good picks come the ones I am less high on that you should consider alternatives for each week. Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Starts & Sits for Week 6 (2023).
Starts
Marcus Davenport (MIN) v CHI
- Seven pressures over the past two games
- Has played 70% of snaps over the past two games.
- Matchup vs LT, Larry Borom is a plus-matchup.
- Boron allowed eight pressures in Week 5.
- Khalil Herbert was Chicago’s best pass-blocking back, he is out.
Trey Hendrickson (CIN) v SEA
- Five sacks over past three games
- PFFs 4th highest graded pass-rusher
- Matchup vs Stone Forsythe.
- Forsythe had allowed the 9th most pressures to begin season prior to Week 5 BYE
Haason Reddick (PHI) at NYJ
- Five pressures and three sacks over the past two games
- Jets’ T Alijah Vera-Tucker out (Achilles)
- Jalen Carter and entire Eagles’ D-Line creates havoc
Sit
Quinnen Williams (NYJ) v PHI
- Eagles’ O-Line is PFFs 2nd highest rated offensive line, allowing only two sacks.
- Only two DTs have eclipsed six fantasy points on the season.
Harold Landry III (TEN) v BAL
- Despite solid snap%, Landry III has an uninspiring 4% pressure rate
- 5% win-rate (89th out of 95 in NFL w/100 pass rush snaps)
- Baltimore will get Morgan Moses back in Week 6
Kayvon Thibodeaux (NYG) v BUF
- 4.9% Win-Rate (92nd out of 95 in NFL w/100 pass rush snaps)
- Buffalo only allowed nine sacks, with zero against Dion Dawkins
Start
Damone Clark (DAL) at LAC
- Injury to Leighton Vander Esch opens up a full-time role
- Clark hasn’t missed a tackle yet in 2023 (1 of only 8 LB)
- 20% tackle rate on run plays. Austin Ekelar’s return
Quincy Williams (NYJ) v PHI
- Nine tackles or more in four of five games
- Seven tackles or more in each game
- Eagles are a Top 5 team to opposing LBs. There will be plenty of opportunities for both Williams and Mosley to have excellent games
- 1 of 3 LBs w/25+ tackles, 1+ sacks and 3+ PDs
Kaden Elliss (ATL) v WAS
- Atlanta will need to generate a pass rush against the league’s most sacked QB.
- Atlanta lacks elite pass-rushers, which could be offset by blitzing Kaden Ellis (16th most blitzes in NFL)
- The Bears just generated 33 pressures vs WSH, Atlanta
Sit
Shaq Leonard (IND) v JAX
- Returning from injury, but will he regain a full-time role?
- Even prior to injury, he was splitting (at best) snaps with EJ Speed
- Avoid the uncertainty
Kamu Grugier-Hill (CAR) at MIA
- After heavy workloads in weeks 2 & 3, played sparingly over the past two games.
- Chandler Wooten outsnapped KGH due to a minor injury suffered by KGH.
Isaiah Simmons (NYG) v BUF
- Saw huge workload and output w/ Micah McFadden out.
- McFadden got in a limited practice on Thurs.
- IF McFadden doesn’t play, feel free to consider Simmons, but I wouldn’t trust the snaps otherwise.
Start
Kader Kohou (MIA) v CAR
- Carolina just gave up 11 tackles to the slot cornerback in Week 5.
- Carolina has allowed six or more tackles to the slot in four of five games.
- Kohou saw an increase in pass-rush snaps in Week 5. If that continues, Carolina just allowed 31 pressures.
Marcus Maye (NO) v HST
- Maye returns from suspension and will resume full-time FS role
- Houston has been incredibly generous to opposing FS, allowing nine or more tackles in four of five games.
Camryn Bynum (MIN) v CHI
- Leads all DBs in tackles (solo and assists)
- Minnesota will look to pressure Justin Fields to create turnovers. All of Fields’ interceptions have been to the FS or the LB position.
- Could Bynum add an INT to his league-leading tackle numbers?
Sit
Talanoa Hufanga (SF) at CLE
- SF is already playing limited defensive snaps
- Hufanga playing primary deep snaps, leading to a horrendous 5% tackle efficiency.
- Interceptions have been a saving grace, which is too volatile to trust
Jeremy Chinn (CAR) at MIA
- Played a total of 18 snaps in Week 5
- Don’t be tempted. Playing time just isn’t there, which is odd considering the amount of injuries.
Nick Scott (CIN) v SEA
- Maybe in the dreaded rotation with Jordan Battle
- Seattle is avoidable for opposing safeties, even if in a near full-time role
