Week 7 Waiver Wire Adds for IDP

Welcome to Week 7!  This means we are officially halfway thru the fantasy regular season, and hopefully, you all are gearing up for a deep playoff run!

If you are still reading these articles, there is a good chance that you are one of the most coveted assets to fantasy football, an engaged fantasy manager.  While the fantasy season can be a long and arduous one, remaining engaged until the end is of the utmost importance.  Not only does it increase your odds of winning, but it also creates a much more level playing field for your league.  Let us not also forget one of the most important lessons that I can teach you: Keep Attacking the Waiver Wire!

With the following teams on Bye in week 7, there are a lot of fantasy stars that are going to be missing.

  • Ravens
  • Colts
  • Vikings
  • Dolphins

Here is your week 7 Waiver Wire Gold!!!

Defensive Line

Mario Addison

  • 4% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 11.3
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game:  7.5

Addison is coming off a game vs KC in which he got to Mahomes on a couple different plays, resulting in a sack and 4 tackles.  Quiet since week 2, look for Addison to have plenty of chances to get after the Jets QB in week 7.  I am expecting Darnold to return, but regardless of who is behind center, the Jets will be trailing and forced to pass.  Add in the fact that Mekhi Becton might be returning at less than 100%, and I can see Addison recording another sack to add to his small collection.

Brandon Graham

  • 4% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 20.25
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game 10.1

It’s not an easy task to sack Lamar Jackson, it’s even more difficult to do it twice.  That is exactly what Graham did in Week 6.  Graham now has 5 sacks on the season and has multiple sacks in two different games.  Graham has a tasty matchup vs NYG in Week 7, and it’s always an even sweeter treat when the opposing QB is as turnover prone as Daniel Jones.

Montez Sweat

  • 14.1% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 5
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game:  7.2

Montez Sweat is finally going to go up against the Dallas Cowboys in a favorable position.  Few teams have been as lucky to have such an incredible offensive line as the Dallas Cowboys, but it appears those days are coming to end with the injury bug running rampant in Big D.  Tyron Smith is out for the season, which means Brandon Knight, the 2nd year player from Indiana, will get the task of stopping Sweat.  The entire Dallas O-Line is falling apart and I think this could be a good game for the entire Football Team D-Line

LINEBACKER

Robert Spillane

  • 0% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 8.75
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game: 8.75 (1 game with more than 10 snaps)

As you may have heard, Devin Bush suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 6.  Bush is nearly impossible to replace, and I don’t want to be mistaken that Spillane is going to be that guy.  I do have him as a waiver wire target simply based on opportunity.  Opportunity breeds success, remember that.  Bush had played in 100% of the snaps before going down, and I expect Spillane to occupy a huge percentage of the snaps in Week 7.   The Steelers will travel to Tennessee to face the Titans and Spillane will have his hands full!  Last week, in only 31 snaps, he recorded 5 tackles.  With a full workload, near double-digit tackles is a possibility.

Dakota Allen

  • .3% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 0
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game: 9

Dakota Allen filled in for Myles Jack in weeks 4 and 5 before Jack returned to action in Week 6.  In those games he played, Allen tallied 12 tackles and played every snap.  Pay attention to the reports this week to monitor Myles Jacks’ status.  If he misses, Allen is in a great spot this week against the Chargers who allow the 10th most points to opposing linebackers.

Ja’Whaun Bentley

  • 5.9% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 21
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game: 9.4

Bentley was named the starting ILB for New England and started off a little slow.  As the weeks have come and gone, Bentley appears to be settling into that role.  As he has settled in, his snap share is now hovering around the 95-100% range.  Last week against the uber run-heavy Broncos (32 attempts), Bentley paced the Patriots with 12 tackles and a half-sack.  While I wouldn’t expect to see 32 rushing attempts again, the 49ers definitely have one of the most run-heavy attacks, and allow the 2nd most points to opposing LB’s.

Defensive Backs

Josh Jones

  • 16% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 12.75
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game: 10

Josh Jones is definitely flying under the radar.  If you eliminate the unfortunate ejection in Week 5, Jones has recorded 28 tackles over the past 3 games while playing in nearly 100% of the snaps.  The Chargers are allowing the 12th most points to opposing Safeties and if Week 6 is any indications, the Jags lined Jones up in the box over 35% of his total snaps.

Kyzir White

  • 12.8% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: BYE
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game: 11.5

Kyzir White is being mentioned again, I know!  But there is a little wrinkle to it…he qualifies at DB on some sites.  While obviously if your league doesn’t accept him as a DB, if he is available at LB, go get him anyways.  White has been fantastic since inheriting the role after the unfortunate Tranquill injury.  Double-digit tackles and double-digit scoring in his past 3 games, White is not just valuable at both positions, but he is firmly an LB2 and DB1 for week 7 vs the Jags.  Jacksonville allows the 5th most points to opposing LB (but you reap the rewards at DB)

Taylor Rapp

  • 19.1% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • Week 6 Fantasy Points: 11.3
  • Fantasy Pts Per Game: 5

Rapp rebounded from his disappointing Week 5 with 9 tackles, 6 Solo vs the 49ers.  With Jordan Fuller on the IR, Rapp played in 100% of the snaps in Week 6 and looks to do the same in Week 7.  The Rams are at home vs a Bears team that is middle of the road vs opposing Safeties, but the home crew in L.A. is very generous when it comes to Solo Tackles (data published by Ryan Stitzmann via IDPGuru.com)  Finally, it’s really nice to see that Rapp played near the box in over 30% of his total snaps in Week 6.

And just like that, Week 7 is upon us!  Please reach out to me @natemarcum if you have any questions, comments, etc.  I would love to hear from you!
