Week 11 Waiver Wire Adds For IDP

Week 11 is upon us!

At this point in the season, the cream has risen to the top and the rest, well, has stayed in that homogenous layer in the middle just waiting for their chance.  Yes, just waiting for the chance to earn a spot in your coveted IDP lineup!  How do you get into the lineup you ask?  Well, opportunity, ability, and matchups!  At this stage of the season, what the majority of IDP managers should be monitoring are injuries and weekly matchups to exploit.  From this week going forward, the majority of my key additions will most likely be a one week wonder, with the potential for multi-week production.  Without further ado, here are your week 11 waiver wire adds for IDP.

Defensive Line

Denico Autry

  • 3.3% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 10.5 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 7.47 Fantasy Pts per game

Autry is doing what he has done for the past few seasons, and that is to have monster weeks sprinkled in with some zero-production games.  While this is ever frustrating, a look back at his previous 3 weeks may give me reason for optimism.  Over the past 3 weeks, Autry has had 5 solo, 3 assist, and 4 Sacks!  The matchup against the Packers isn’t the most opportune, but you have to look at the consistent pressure and the attention being paid to DeForest Buckner.  Follow along with the snap % that Autry is playing and monitor Kemoko Turay.  If he eats into his work, this might be too muddy to pursue going forward.

Maxx Crosby

  • 11.8% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 11.75 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 7.6 Fantasy Points per Game

The recommendation of Maxx Crosby should have been before last week!  When Crosby catches fire, he can contribute in a major way.  If you look back to Weeks 3-5, he recorded 4 sacks over that time, with 1 of those at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.  This week, the Raiders face the aforementioned Chiefs, with potentially a few losses across the defensive line.  Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fischer both were placed on the Covid precaution list and the outlook for Sunday is still unknown at this time.  This matchup is definitely prime for Crosby to shine!  As I mentioned before, he goes on these streaks and needs to be rostered.  Over the past 2 games, Crosby has registered 3 Solo, 6 Assists, and 2 Sacks.

Everson Griffen

  • 3.4% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 9.75 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 5.19 Fantasy Points per Game

Coming over from Dallas, Everson Griffen has returned immediate dividends to a Lions team that needed a jump start after the loss of Trey Flowers.  With Romeo Okwara improving, Griffen might not see the attention from opposing O-Lineman that he should command.  Over the past 2 weeks, Griffen has generated 3 Solo, 3 Assist and a sack.  This week, against a Carolina team that just allowed 3 sacks to the Bucs, Griffen is worth plugging in, especially if Teddy is a little slowed by the MCL sprain he suffered in Week 10.

Linebacker

Leonard Floyd

  • 4.9% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 27.5 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 9.6 Fantasy Points per Game

Leonard Floyd was mentioned by our own Jorge Edwards a few weeks back on The Fantasy Playbook Podcast, but just a couple of weeks too early!   In Week 10, Floyd put up one of those week-winning types of performances!  5 tackles, 3 Sacks, and a Forced Fumble!  In some leagues, Floyd is considered a DL, and if you play in one of those leagues, there is no reason for a player among the league leaders in sacks to remain un-rostered in nearly 96% of leagues.  Let’s not forget that he also ranks in the top 15 in QB hits, Blitzes, and QB pressures.  The Rams face Tom Brady and Bucs in Week 11.  Brady, while very shifty and quick to get rid of the ball, isn’t exactly the most fleet of foot.  Oh yeah, having Aaron Donald on the same team doesn’t hurt!

Josey Jewell

  • 9.4% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 11.25 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 10.9 Fantasy Points per Game

I will be completely honest here…I had no clue that Jewell was so under-rostered!  Over the past 3 weeks, Jewell has easily been inside the LB2 threshold, tallying 30 tackles (20 Solo Tackles, 10 Assists).  The really nice thing about having Jewell in your lineup is that regardless of the type of defensive scheme that is laid in front of him, he is well equipped and suited to wear many different hats.  Exhibit A:  WEEK 4 vs. New York Jets.  Jewell was asked to blitz more than usual, and he responds with something that has only been done twice since 1994. 2 sacks and 10 tackles.  The other to perform this feat…Von Miller!  Exhibit B:  Week 8 vs LAC.  Jewell is targeted a season-high 8 times.  While coverage and rushing the passer are definitely not a strength, the solid tackle floor coupled with the opportunity for splash plays helps to elevate that steady floor!

Nick Kwiatkowski

  • 17% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 18.5 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 9.39 Fantasy Points per Game.

Over the past three weeks, the Raiders rank in the top five in takeaways (7), passer rating against (68.1) and points allowed (14.7 per game).  At the center of this production is Kwiatkowski!  Over the past 3 weeks, he has 20 Solo Tackles, 6 Assists, 2 Passes defended, 1 Forced Fumble and one of the most amazing INT of the year.  Watch it here.  Not only is Kwiatkowski an intriguing IDP option this week, he is quickly becoming one of the better real football LB’s for the Raiders, evident by his 50.9 QB rating when targeted.  The last time the Raiders and Chiefs played, in Week 5, he was only on the field for 60% of the snaps, so I wouldn’t use the past performance as the baseline for his production this week.

Defensive Back

Daniel Thomas

  • 0.1% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 9.75 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 7 Fantasy Points per Game

This is one of those “opportunity” situations.  Josh Jones goes on the IR and it’s the next man up, and that man is Daniel Thomas.  The 5th round pick out of Auburn has played sparingly this season, but when given a bigger role, i.e. Week 5 v Hou, he has produced (7 tackles/10.5 fantasy points).  Last week, in replacement of Jones, he played every snap and recorded 8 tackles (5 Solo/3 Assists).  This week against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense, Thomas will be on the field a lot and the Steelers are in the top 10 in points allowed to the Safety position.

Jordan Fuller

  • .9% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 4.5 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 8 Fantasy Points per Game

Jordan Fuller had beat out Taylor Rapp to begin the season as the Rams’ starting SS.  While it might have been largely due to the knee injury that Rapp was recovering from, it didn’t stop Fuller from averaging double-digit fantasy points thru the first couple of weeks!  Fuller then went down with injury and Rapp regained his starting role and hadn’t looked back, that is until Week 10.  Rapp left week 10 with a ligament injury that is going to force him onto the IR, and thrusting Fuller back into a prominent role at SS.  Prior to his injury, Rapp had averaged nearly 12 fantasy points per game and it would be fair to say that Fuller should inherit a similar role and production.  While the matchup vs the Buccaneers may not be ideal in regards to points allowed to the Safety position, his upcoming schedule vs SF, Ari, and New England offer legitimate upside!

Eric Rowe

  • 7.4% Rostered (FantasyPros Consensus)
  • 7.5 Week 10 Fantasy Points
  • 9.44 Fantasy Points per Game

Eric Rowe, who is 2nd on the Dolphins in tackles, has been on a really good run as of late.  Rowe has accumulated 27 tackles, 1 INT, 2 QB hits and 6 passes defended over his past 4 games!  The Dolphins defense has definitely come on strong over the course of the year and Rowe is helping to set the table!  Picking up Rowe might be a long term addition to your team, it is his Week 11 matchup that has me salivating.  The Denver Broncos are already allowing opposing Safeties the most fantasy points to date, and it definitely doesn’t hurt that Drew Lock is going to try and play through the injury he suffered in Week 10, after throwing 4 INTs that game!

That wraps up this edition of my Week 11 Waiver Wire adds for IDP.  As always, if you are reading this, you have either positioned yourself for a long run into the fantasy playoffs, or you are constantly trying to learn and better yourself.  I wish you the absolute best!  Stay safe and Long Live IDP!
