Waiver Wire Adds for Week 3

Welcome to our second Waiver Wire article for the season!

Fantasy football championships are won by navigating the waiver wire each and every season. From injuries to underperforming players, the waiver wire Gods always provide a savior or two that will help lead us to fantasy gold. Week 2 of the 2022 NFL season provided quite a few of those. Therefore, let’s get down to business and discuss our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 3!

QBs

Jared Goff

Consensus Rostership: 14.4%, Week 3 Matchup: Minnesota Vikings

  • With back-to-back 200-yard games and multiple touchdowns, this Lions offense is legit. Surrounding any QB with guys like Amon Ra St. Brown, D’Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams, and TJ Hockenson is a recipe for success. Especially when the QB in question has been to the Super Bowl. Jared Goff should have one of his best seasons in Detroit.

Jimmy Garoppolo

Consensus Rostership: 2.5%, Week 3 Matchup: Denver Broncos

  • Trey Lance is out for the season, so Jimmy G is back under center for the 49ers. He had a top ten PFF grade in both offensive and passing and has great chemistry with this roster. Let’s not forget that in the past 3 years, Garoppolo has been in the Super Bowl and the NFC Championship game twice. Jimmy G should be picked up in most leagues.

RBs

J.D. McKissic

Consensus Rostership: 32.9%, Week 3 Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles

  • Probably one of the highest receiving upsides on an RB this year. McKissic showcased his pass-catching upside hauling in all 7 targets for 7 receptions and 54 yards. Gibson will remain the RB1, but McKissic will be a solid RB2 for the Commanders and should be on your fantasy roster.

Tyler Allgeier

Consensus Rostership: 13.6%, Week 3 Matchup: Seattle Seahawks

  • The rookie out of BYU debuted in the NFL with 10 carries against the Rams D-line, tied with the clear starter Cordarelle Patterson. The Falcons were down (28-3 lmao) for most of the game, the game script wasn’t meant for Allgeier to have 10 carries. But somehow, he did. This should bode very well for the rookie’s value this year.

WRs

Garrett Wilson

Consensus Rostership: 46.2%, Week 3 Matchup: Cincinnati Bengals

  • If you listened to me last week, you’re welcome. If you didn’t listen to me or didn’t read last week’s article, GARRETT WILSON IS HIM. He just had his breakout game against the Browns, 8/14, with 102 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. While I don’t think he will have that stat line very often, he is the WR1 in New York and will probably finish within the top 30 for WRs. GET HIM NOW!!!!

Joshua Palmer

Consensus Rostership: 34%, Week 3 Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Mike Williams should be the lead receiver with Keenan Allen missing time, but Palmer has the ability to earn WR2 work. Against the Chiefs on Thursday, he had 4 receptions on 8 targets, 30 yards, and a touchdown. Palmer should see a good amount of work in an already pass-heavy offense.

TEs

Gerald Everett

Consensus Rostership: 43.9%, Week 3 Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Speaking of a pass-heavy Chargers offense, please go pick up their TE. Gerald has clearly won the starting job, and Herbert seems to target him a lot. With the TE position being as thin as it is in fantasy football, a guy with Everett’s workload so far should be rostered immediately. I mentioned him and Wilson last week and both had solid games. Go get Everett!

Evan Engram

Consensus Rostership: 18.9%, Week 3 Matchup: Los Angeles Chargers

  • Now the TE on the other end of this week 3 game between the Chargers and the Jaguars. Engram had 8 targets against the Colts and caught 7 of them, add 46 yards on top of that and that’s a solid day in fantasy football. If he continues that production he may just crack the top 15 TEs.

Mike Gesicki

Consensus Rostership: 43.1%, Week 3 Matchup: Buffalo Bills

  • His fantasy outlook was very grim with reports that Gesicki would be used more in pass blocking. But after this comeback win against the Ravens, there may be hope yet. Gesicki is an elite talent on one of the most pass-heavy offenses in the league. He should be a TE1 on your roster.
