Waiver Wire Adds for Week 5 (2022)

Week 5 Wavier Wire Fantasy In Frames 2022

Welcome to our Week 5 Waiver Wire article this season!

This week I’m here to get you ready for your waiver wire claims/FAAB bids by suggesting players you should pick up off of waivers that are rostered in 50% or less in fantasy leagues according to Fantasy Pros Consensus rostership which is a combo of availability in ESPN and Yahoo leagues. Here are your Waiver Wire Adds for Week 5 (2022)!

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff (Fantasy Pros Consensus 48.1% rostered)

Averaging 22.2 fantasy points per game this season, Jared Goff has solidified himself as a weekly streamer/QB2 for you in your SuperFlex and 2-QB leagues. Over the next three games, he’ll be facing the Patriots, Cowboys, and Dolphins, teams allowing the 9th, 26th, and 3rd most fantasy points to the quarterback position on the season. That’s two starts with QB1 potential in 1-QB leagues and one potential start in a SuperFlex or 2-QB league. Pick him up off of waivers today!

Geno Smith (Fantasy Pros Consensus 13.3% rostered)

The Saints, Cardinals, and Chargers have allowed the 25th, 15th, and 13th most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position so far this season. Outside of next week’s matchup versus the Saints, Geno Smith and his 19 ppg average on the season has QB1 written all over those matchups. Geno has looked better and more in control of this offense for the Seahawks each week. I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.

Running Backs

Brian Robinson Jr. (Fantasy Pros Consensus 45.7% rostered)

This man was literally an hour away from being listed as the team’s starting running back in the preseason before getting shot in the leg twice. Now, there are reports that he could very well be active this coming week versus Tennessee. For more information about my initial thoughts of Robinson being drafted by the Commanders, click here. Robinson has week-to-week winning upside given the elusiveness and running prowess he displayed in college and during the preseason. Most importantly, this coaching staff is practically begging him to take the keys to the car of this offense. Make him a top priority in your league’s waivers this week.

Tyler Allgeier (Fantasy Pros Consensus 16.4% rostered)

With Cordarrelle Patterson on IR for at least the next four weeks, the Falcons will look to immediately insert Allgeier into their starting lineups going forward. He faces some seriously TOUGH matchups over the next few weeks, which might detract managers from placing too high a waiver priority or FAAB bid. In my opinion, that is EXACTLY the scenario in which you go all in on a player that has the upside of Allgeier. Not to mention, he will get most of the volume until Patterson returns. He’s definitely an important pickup for you this week!

Wide Receivers

Michael Gallup (Fantasy Pros Consensus 43.7% rostered)

For those who don’t know this about me, I’m a HUGE Michael Gallup fan. Seeing him make a fast return from his ACL injury this past week and find the endzone was a big moment for me and the Cowboys fans out there. This coming week he’ll look to have his starting QB return from injury versus the Rams, who will more than likely look to shutdown Ceedee Lamb. The WR2 position on this offense is a completely startable receiving option for fantasy managers; ask the Noah Brown managers. Pick this playmaker up off of waivers QUICKLY this week and reap the rewards.

George Pickens (Fantasy Pros Consensus 38.4% rostered)

The era of the rookies in Pittsburgh is upon us. With new starting QB Kenny Pickett at the helm in Week 4, George Pickens finished the day with 8 targets, 6 receptions for 102 yards, and 13.2 half-PPR points. This young man is the real deal, folks. He should already be rostered IMO and if for some reason he’s available on Tuesday, make sure he isn’t on Wednesday this week.

Tight Ends

Robert Tonyan (Fantasy Pros Consensus 26.7% rostered)

“it’s looking like this passing offense is starting to click with Tonyan becoming one of the focal points for Aaron Rodgers.”

Me from our Week 4 Starts and Sits last week

Tonyan finished as the TE9 on the week versus the Patriots. Look, I’m not saying he’s Travis Kelce, but what I am trying to convey to you is he has the eye of Aaron Rodgers, and until A.A.RON develops a better rapport with his young wide receivers, Tonyan is going to be one of the top beneficiaries of his attention.

Will Dissly (Fantasy Pros Consensus 2.3% rostered)

In the past three of four weeks this season, Will Dissly has averaged a consistent 11.5 half-PPR points per game. That average would make him the TE4 on the season. Are you that well off at TE to let Dissly get by you this week on waivers?!

No?!

I didn’t think so.
