The Los Angeles Chargers Sign Najee Harris: 2025 Fantasy Football Implications

We have another free agent signing!!!!! Najee Harris and the LA Chargers have agreed to a one-year deal for a $5.25 million base salary ($1.5 million guaranteed salary, $3.75 million signing bonus) with $4 million in rushing incentives, equaling up to $9.25 million in the deal.
This one-year prove-it deal could open the door to a long-term contract with the Chargers if Coach Harbough likes what he sees. This deal is excellent news for both parties involved. Najee Harris owners in the dynasty should be excited, and drafters should put Harris on their radars.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The writing was on the wall at the beginning of last season when the Steelers did not pick up Harris’ fifth-year option. The team was ready to move on from him. When the team saw what they had in Jaylen Warren, Harris began losing touches to him. It still didn’t stop Harris from reaching the 1,000-yard mark in every season he has been in the NFL. Harris was also plagued with offensive line issues the whole time he was a Steeler with mediocre to subpar quarterback play and was still able to hit and surpass the 1,000-yard mark every year. Harris is a workhorse back who has proven he could handle the work, averaging 274.5 carries and 45 receptions per season, and 34 total TDs. With the mediocre to-bad offensive line and quarterback play, Najee still put up good fantasy numbers. In Non-PPR, Najee averaged 187 points per season, in Half-PPR 208.5 points per season, and in PPR he averaged 231 points per season.
Los Angeles Chargers
This is an outstanding spot for Najee Harris. Harris linking up with Coach Harbaugh could be sweet fantasy music. I believe this is the perfect running back for a coach wanting to run the ball. Harris has the three biggest qualities you need to fit in a Harbaugh system: he is durable, can handle a heavy workload, and doesn’t fumble the ball. Last season, JK Dobbins might have worked out if he had stayed healthy. This move to the Chargers is going to smash this year in fantasy. Najee will see a lot of work behind a good line with an elite quarterback. He should see all of the goalline work and the situations that hindered his fantasy production in Pittsburgh improve with the Chargers, I could see a top-10 running back fantasy finish.
