4-EYED TEAM PREVIEW: TENNESSEE TITANS (2021)

Today we are continuing our 4-EYED TEAM PREVIEW SERIES and we are covering the Tennessee Titans of the AFC South! This morning we’re talking offense and later today we’ll be releasing our IDP outlook, so stay tuned!

The 2020 AFC South Champion Tennesee Titans made shockwaves acquiring Julio Jones to add to their already dominant offense. Tannehill, Henry, and Brown are all coming off top-11 performances for the positions in fantasy and the only real question with this offense is will they be able to replace former tight end, Jonnu Smith.

So with that said, who are the players from the Titans offense that can help you win a fantasy championship in 2021?

Find out below in our 2021 Titans Offensive 4-EYED Team Preview!

Quarterback

Ryan Tannehill

Titan Tannehill is working again as he is coming off of 3,984 passing yards, 34 touchdowns, and eight interceptions last season. He also had 22 carries for 272 yards and seven touchdowns rushing setting a career-high in both yards and touchdowns on the ground. Even though Tannehill had six fumbles, that is the second-fewest for a season in his career, so technically an improvement. Going into 2020, Tannehill and the Titans offense have lost Corey Davis (NYJ) and Jonny Smith (NE), but have gained Julio Jones. Expectations are going to be high for Tannehill again who should again finish as a QB1 in fantasy this season.

Running Back

Derrick Henry

This might be the shortest entry all season. It. Is. DERRICK. HENRY. In 2020, Henry was the RB2 in .5 PPR leagues, the RB3 leagues, and the RB1 in standard leagues. Draft. Him. Highly.

Wide Receivers

A.J. Brown

Brown is going into his third season in the league and improved during his first two years with the Titans. In 2020, Brown was targeted 109 times and he had 76 receptions for 1,158 yards and 12 touchdowns. This helped Brown finish as the WR 11 in half-PPR leagues and has his current ADP sitting at WR8 with everyone expecting him to continue to improve. Brown was fifth in the NFL last season among wide receivers with at least 101 targets with 15.4 yards per reception and he led them in yards after the reception with 6.2. This combination allowed Brown to rank third in yards per route run, so as long as Brown can stay healthy and on the field, he is going to be one of the best receivers in the game.

Julio Jones

Jones had a down year dealing with an injury and only playing in nine games in 2020. Jones is going into his age-32 season, but he still has at least 1,300 receiving yards in six of the last seven seasons. Jones is still dominant and we have seen this Titans offense support two fantasy wide receivers and Jones is certainly an upgrade from Corey Davis. Jones probably can’t be expected to be a WR1 on a run-first team like the Titans, but he has WR2 value for the season.

Tight End

Anthony Firkser

Even though Jonnu Smith was able to be fantasy’s TE10 last season doesn’t automatically vault Firkser into TE1 status. He should get a good opportunity in the offense, but in the one game that Smith missed in 2020, Firkser was targeted seven times and brought in five receptions for 51 yards and 7.6 fantasy points. Firsker’s current ADP on FantasyPros has him as the TE22 so no need to worry about grabbing shares of him early in your drafts, if at all.
