IDP Waiver Wire Adds for Week 15

IDP Waiver Wire for Week 15 (2022) Fantasy In Frames

Welcome to our Week 15 IDP Waiver Wire article this season!

The months of preparation, the hours of drafting, and the seemingly endless time spent on waivers is finally about to be tested! The fantasy Playoffs are here!

While many can coast into the playoffs with a loaded roster that has avoided any serious injuries and possibly even a 1st round BYE, many of us have been grinding all year. The hope is that you have been reading this article series all season and have been ahead of the curve, but nevertheless, you are here now. If this is your 15th time reading this article or your first, just know I am here to do nothing more than give you the tools to succeed!

The schedule has a good mix of Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday games. Each league is different, so I will try to add some very shallow options in these desperate times. Follow along all week for any start and sit advice and our composite rankings combined with this article.

Let’s get down to business and discuss some IDP Waiver Wire Adds for Week 15!

Defensive Line/Edge Rusher

Preston Smith/Kingsley Enagbare (Green Bay Packers)

The good ole two-for-one suggestion in time for the playoffs! Depending on the league size/depth you play in, there is a good chance that one of these guys is on your waivers, if not both.

Coming off of their BYE in Week 14, the Packers will play host to the Rams. Many may think of the Rams and their amazing two-minute drive led by Baker Mayfield. On the other hand, I only think of the Rams as the worst pass-blocking team in the NFL. If the Rams look to try and take the game to the ground, it’s nice to know that both are solid in run defense as well. Smith ranks inside the Top 10 among linemen in run-play stops, and Enagbare is Top 20 (since gaining full-time snaps).

Look for both Smith and Enagbare to overwhelm the Rams’ O-line and get to Mayfield early and often. Shallow leagues should be able to secure Smith, and the deeper leagues can pivot over to Enagbare, who is looking for his first sack since Week 7.

Azeez Ojulari (New York Giants)

While it’s only been two games since Ojulari was activated off of the IR, he has made the most of those two games. He has ten pressures, three sacks, two TFLs, four QB hits, and a forced fumble during this two-game stretch. This production is good for the DL8 during this wonderful return to the field.

Ojulari and the Giants will get another tasty matchup in Week 15 when they travel to face their division foes, the Washington Commanders. It was only Week 13 when these last battled, and Ojulari put on a pass-rush display. His seven pressures paced both teams, ultimately leading to a DL30 finish due to his sack, pass deflection, and forced fumble.

Honorable Mention or Previously Mentioned:

George Karlaftis (KC Chiefs)– Karlaftis is riding a three-game sack streak that will likely continue as the Chiefs travel to play the Houston Texans. Despite Houston’s improved effort in Week 14, their offensive line has been an exploitable one on the season.

Baron Browning (Denver Broncos)-Browning will host the Arizona Cardinals and their offensive line, who just allowed 27 pressures to the Patriots on MNF. Browning has flashed weeks of excellence, like in Week 5 when he amassed 10 pressures! While I don’t anticipate double-digit pressures, I think a good game is in store. Watching the Cardinals line against the Patriots is encouraging enough, but eliminate Kyler Murray, and the equation adds up.

Josh Uche (New England Patriots)- Still doesn’t get the attention he deserves, but when you have Matthew Judon on the opposite side, it’s easier to understand. This tandem is dynamic, and Uche has been tremendous as of late. Twelve tackles, five sacks, three TFLs, seven QB hits, and a forced fumble over the past two games. Wow!

Linebackers

Monty Rice (Tennessee Titans)-

With the litany of injuries to the Titans, the “next man up” mantra has been strong in 2022. This past week, it was supposed to be Dylan Cole and then a hodgepodge of Monty Rice and Joe Schobert. What happened was that Dylan Cole played the most snaps, but Monty Rice played the most efficient snaps. Rice totaled 12 tackles in 71% of the snaps (24%) and one TFL.

The Titans and Rice will have their hands full of a Chargers team that finally looked to click on all cylinders in Week 14. This can lead to another solid outing for Rice, especially if the Chargers control the ball effectively as they did in Week 13.

The Titans released Joe Schobert, which bodes well for the Titans’ belief in Rice and a potential Cunningham return.

Jerome Baker (Miami Dolphins)

An apology of sorts should go out to Jerome Baker. I have been pretty vocal in my dissatisfaction with Jerome’s IDP value. This has come to an impressive halt over the past few weeks. This most recent two-game stretch has produced 22 tackles, three TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and two QB hits (LB5).

Baker will get to face the Bills in Week 15. The last time Baker faced the Bills (Wk 3), he put up 22.5 fantasy points (fantasy pros scoring) on the heels of 13 tackles, .5 sacks, and a deflected pass.

Honorable Mention or Previously Mentioned:

Patrick Queen (Baltimore Ravens)- Queen has benefitted from having Roquan on the field. The LB12 on the season has actually seen his stock rise as of late. During the past month, he has been the LB10. The Ravens will face the LB-generous Cleveland Browns on Saturday.

Cody Barton (Seattle Seahawks)- There still may be a chance that fantasy managers simply don’t trust him without 100% of the snaps, but he has been fantastic as of late. Barton has been the LB6 over the past three weeks and gets the 49ers on Thursday. Expect another big week for Barton.

Deion Jones (Cleveland Browns)- There was speculation about who would pick up the significant LB2 snaps with Takitaki put on IR. We got our answer in Week 14, and it was Deion Jones. Now the question is, who will join Jones on the field with both Takitaki and JOK missing multiple weeks?

Defensive Back

Logan Ryan

Logan Ryan returned to the field in Week 14 and did what he does best…pick up tackles against both the run and pass! With so many injuries to the Bucs’ secondary, Ryan could be in store for another week of significant snaps against the Bengals. That is the most difficult thing to note in this situation, as we may not know the status of both Edwards and Winfield Jr by the time we make our claims.

Andrew Wingard (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Andrew Wingard got 100% of the snaps in Week 14 with Andre Cisco unavailable. Wingard took those snaps and turned in a “Defensive Player of the Game” performance.

It wasn’t just last week that Wingard has been excellent; he has actually been the DB4 over the past two weeks. During that time, Wingard has 16 tackles (1 TFL), 1 deflected pass, and an INT.

The Jags will host the Dallas Cowboys, who just gave up a DB3 performance to Jalen Pitre and have allowed the 3rd most points to opposing safeties!

Honorable Mention and Previously Mentioned:

Juan Thornhill (Kansas City Chiefs)- Was mentioned last week and followed up his 10 tackle performance with another gem. His 7 tackles, two deflected passes and a sack were good for the DB6 finish on the week. Spags will utilize Thornhill exceptionally against the Texans in Week 15.
