IDP Waiver Wire Adds for Week 10

Welcome to our Week 10 IDP Waiver Wire article this season!

Look at you!  Despite the plethora of players on BYES, injured or recently traded, you have survived another week of Fantasy Football.  While the bumps and bruises may have hurt, they will get better, as will your fantasy lineup.

In Week 9, we saw the unfortunate injuries to Rashan Gary, Divine Deablo, Gregory Rousseau, Cameron Dantzler, and Malcolm Rodriguez in the heat of battle.  We also got the news that injuries don’t just happen on the field but in ATV accidents while in Cabo.  Yes, Xavier McKinney will miss multiple weeks with a hand injury suffered during his BYE week.

While we direct our attention to Week 10 with the recent news of injuries, we also have another four teams that will have their BYE week!

Now, as I say every week, while the true roster % of IDP leagues is difficult to tabulate, I will do my best to ensure we are ahead of the curve. So without further adieu, let’s get down to our IDP Waiver Wire Adds for Week 10!

Defensive Line/Edge Rusher

A.J. Epenesa (Buffalo Bills)

It’s odd to think that the Bills’ pass rush has been a disappointment over the few weeks.  Go back to Week 6 vs. the Chiefs when they tallied 36 pressures!  That was a dominant performance, yet the Bills have generated less than ten pressures in both games over the past two weeks.

I am not recommending picking both up for this week’s matchup against the Vikings, but both offer upside in varying degrees.  With the recent injury to Gregory Rousseau, the Bills’ pass-rush rotation will be down a very pivotal role.  If Rousseau is going to miss a few weeks, it would appear that Epenesa will see the biggest uptick in snaps. While Epenesa hasn’t exactly been the dominant force the Bills had hoped for when they selected him in the 2nd round of the 2020 Draft, he does have more sacks than he had all of 2021.

The Minnesota Vikings’ pass protection has been a little concerning as of late, especially in the interior.  Both (LG) Ezra Cleveland and (RG) Ed Ingram are in the Top 3 among guards in pressures allowed.

DaQuan Jones (Buffalo Bills)

In continuation of the previous paragraph, DaQuan Jones looks to potentially pay dividends in leagues requiring a DT position.  As mentioned above, the interior line has been suspect for the Vikings.  It just so happens that DaQuan Jones has been lining up both at DRT and DLT, which has the makings of a situational approach.

Finding the hidden gems at DT is a tough exercise, but this has all the makings of a 5+ tackle game and a sack.  I love the exploitable matchups of both Cleveland and Ingram.  If you play in DL-only leagues, I can’t suggest Jones, as his floor is zero.

Check out the chart below!

Brandon Graham (Philadelphia Eagles)

The Washington Commanders quickly became my “attack” offensive line regarding pass-rushers.  Over the last two weeks, the Commanders have allowed a league-leading 35 pressures!  Last week, ZaDarius Smith and Danielle Hunter combined for 16 pressures and two sacks.

Considering the Eagles, like the Bills above, have a list of capable pass-rushers, I will key in on Brandon Graham.  He is the most likely to be available, but he also has a good history against the Commanders.  In their most recent matchup, Week 3, Graham had five pressures resulting in six tackles, 2 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and a FF.  While I am not predicting another 22-point performance, the Commanders can provide this upside.

Honorable Mention or Previously Mentioned:

Dexter Lawrence (New York Giants)- The Giants will host the Houston Texans and Kenyon Green! Lawrence will probably face double teams, but it didn’t stop Javon Hargrave last week.

Kingsley Enagbare (Green Bay Packers)- With Rashan Gary likely done for the season, Enagbare looks to be the next man up. Limited sample, but does have two sacks on the season.

Linebackers

Blake Martinez (Las Vegas Raiders)

The Raiders placed Divine Deablo on the Injured Reserve, which means it’s finally time for Blake Martinez to get the workload his fantasy managers were waiting for. While there is no guarantee that he will be available on your waivers, he should be the priority add in Week 10.

With Deablo going down after only two snaps, Martinez played over 90% of the snaps in his absence. He turned those snaps into 11 tackles, and optimism that we have him back in our fantasy lives! The Raiders will host the Colts in Week 10, who have given up multiple enormous games to ILB.

Derrick Barnes (Detroit Lions)

There has been a Derrick Barnes hype week in his first two seasons. I believe that Week 10 is that week this season. Last week, fan-favorite Rodrigo suffered an elbow injury, and it’s yet to be determined if he will miss time. Barnes took full advantage of the opportunity and turned in the best game of his career. Barnes delivered with 12 total tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PD, and a sack.

Barnes and the Lions will turn their attention to the Chicago Bears in Week 10. The recent improvement to the Bears’ offense only improves his floor and ceiling!

Honorable Mention or Previously Mentioned:

Isaiah Simmons (Arizona Cardinals)- Has seen a surge in production since playing more slot snaps. Always had the skills, just needed to put them together. A matchup with the Rams is always a nice bump in motivation.

Terrel Bernard (Buffalo Bills)- If Milano misses any extra time, Bernard is a suitable replacement. Bernard saw 99% of the snaps in Week 9 and turned them into seven tackles.

Jack Sanborn (Chicago Bears)- Received 87% of the snaps in Week 9, resulting in a team-high seven solo tackles.

Quincy Williams (New York Jets)– Returning from injury and got in 74% of the snaps, leading to four solo tackles and one for a loss. The Jets are on a BYE, so if you have room, they could be a sneaky add ahead of a Week 11 matchup with the LB-generous Patriots!

Frankie Luvu (Carolina Panthers)- I am targeting any LB playing the Falcons. That is all.

Defensive Back

Dane Belton (New York Giants)

Xavier McKinney will miss a couple of weeks, and it will be interesting to see how the Giants divvy out the positions. Neither Dane Belton nor Julian Love is ideal as a deep safety, but it would appear that Belton will get those snaps. Belton is an interesting player because he gets two exciting matchups vs. the Texans and the Lions.

The strong showing that Belton had in the preseason was halted by the broken collarbone, but he has shown that he can be valuable when given playing time. In Week 6 against the Ravens, Belton saw around 60% of the snaps, turned them into six tackles, and a pass was defended.

Kerby Joseph (Detroit Lions)

I am a big fan of Kerby Joseph, being an Illinois fan, but even I didn’t see this type of production in Week 9! Joseph had an amazing game, leading the team with five solo tackles and finishing with ten total. He chipped in three passes defended and two INTs! Joseph demonstrated these ball-hawking skills in his final year at Illinois, so despite not being the preferred box safety, he has solid fantasy upside.

One thing to monitor is the potential concussion he may have suffered in the 2nd half. Hopefully, for us, the opposing QBs still throw his way despite being the #2 PFF-graded coverage safety!

Honorable Mention and Previously Mentioned:

Damar Hamlin (Buffalo Bills)– Has filled in very nicely for Micah Hyde. 12 tackles and a sack in Week 9!

Andrew Wingard (Jacksonville Jaguars)- Rayshawn Jenkins suffered an apparent concussion.

Keanu Neal (TB Bucs)- Winfield Jr could be returning soon, but Neal has been fantasy relevant and seeing a lot of box snaps.
