Welcome to our seventh IDP Waiver Wire article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
As I did for Week 6, I will use FantasyPros Expert Consensus Rankings to base my weekly recommendations for players to roster. I believe using this method of identifying waiver recommendations will benefit people in newbie leagues all the way through to the more advanced IDP-playing fantasy managers. Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 7 (2023) recommendations.
Harold Landry III
Week 7 ECR Rankings: BYE WEEK
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL7 (16.5 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- Landry has never been the most efficient pass-rusher during his career; however, his solo-to-assist tackle ratio has always compensated for that for fantasy purposes.
- Take advantage of those who might have dropped him for his poor fantasy performance thus far this season or due to the fact the Titans are on their bye week and pick up a linebacker with a decent tackle floor and has been showing an increase in snaps the past couple of weeks.
Jonathon Cooper
Week 7 ECR Rankings: DL6
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL12 (12.5 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- While not a household name in newer IDP circles, Jonathon Cooper is slowly but surely making his presence felt for fantasy managers this year.
- Being, by far, the best pass-rusher on the Broncos, look for Cooper to take advantage of the mismatch at LT for the Packers now that David Bakhtiari is out for the season
Gregory Rousseau
Week 7 ECR Rankings: DL31
Week 7’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL31 (12.3 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- Dominating along with AJ Epeneza in pass rush win rate, it was Rousseau along with Leonard Floyd who played a majority of snaps at EDGE in Week 6.
- When healthy, he is one of the best young pass rushers in the league. If he’s available, pick him up ASAP!
Devin Lloyd
Week 7 ECR Rankings: LB36
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB23 (15.0 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- Returning to the starting lineup, Llyod posted nine total tackles and 2 PDs. While he has been streaky in terms of high-volume tackling in his short NFL career, given bye weeks this time of year as well as his on-field percentage, he’s definitely a must-add for fantasy.
Jahlani Tavai
Week 7 ECR Rankings: LB41
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB21 (16.3 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- Over the past three weeks, Tavai has been posting double-digit fantasy points with an impressive solo-to-assist ratio.
- In week 7, he posted an 11.3% tackle efficiency per PFF, and while snaps haven’t been there yet, that should change as the Patriots’ defense should be on the field a lot more this season due to the ineptitude of their offense.
- In deep leagues, he’s worth a speculative add.
Dorian Williams
Week 7 ECR Rankings: LB59
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB33 (12.0 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- It was Dorian Williams who asserted himself as the LB2 for Buffalo in place of injured linebacker Matt Milano.
- 10 tackles with a 6/4 split was a great way to make his presence felt amongst IDP managers. He’s definitely worth an add this week based on his volume going forward.
Josh Metellus
Week 7 ECR Rankings: DB17
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB2 (21.3 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- I’ve talked about him for weeks and LOOK AT HIM NOW.
- His high box snap and slot snap percentages have made him a Swiss army knife in that secondary and as long the tackle numbers persist with his versatility, he’s reaching solid DB2 rest of season for me.
Jabrill Peppers
Week 7 ECR Rankings: DB34
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB23 (13.5 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- In week 7, he dominated box snaps and defensive back snaps versus Las Vegas on Sunday.
- He’s definitely a must-start for DB-needy teams during bye weeks this season.
Tre’von Moehrig
Week 7 ECR Rankings: DB38
Week 6’s Fantasy Point Finish: D39 (11.0 Points in FantasyPros Scoring)
- Moehrig has dominated box snaps for the Raiders this season and over the past three weeks has posted double-digit fantasy points.
- Don’t look now but he may be someone in deeper leagues you may want to stash going forward.
