Welcome to our sixth IDP Waiver Wire article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
As I did for Week 5, I will use Fantasy Pros Expert Consensus Rankings to base my weekly recommendations for players to roster. I believe using this method of identifying waiver recommendations will benefit people in newbie leagues all the way through to the more advanced IDP-playing fantasy managers. Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 6 (2023) recommendations.
Nik Bonitto
Week 6 ECR Rankings: DL33
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL36 (16.0 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- While only playing 65.7% on passing down situations, per PFF, Bonitto hammered home 2 sacks, 2 QB Hits, 2 solo tackles, and 2 TFLs on Sunday versus the Jets on just a 4.8% win rate against offensive linemen blocking.
- With bye weeks being what they are and injuries mounting up this time of year, finding an every-down defensive lineman who has crazy efficiency on limited opportunities is like finding a diamond in the rough.
- I told you last week, and I’m telling you again, add him today!
Von Miller
Week 6 ECR Rankings: DL80
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL390 (0.0 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- That’s right…you read that properly, the DL390! Granted, that was on 22% of total defensive snaps.
- We saw last year, when healthy, Von Miller, playing opposite of another talented edge rusher, he posted 8 sacks in 11 games. He’s definitely someone in deep IDP leagues you should stash for down the road this season.
Leonard Floyd
Week 6 ECR Rankings: DL48
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: DL14 (15.0 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- With the list of defensive linemen being as deep as it is in Buffalo, Leonard Floyd is the player I’m betting will be one of the primary fantasy viable edge rushers next to Von Miller this season.
- His snap % has been fairly consistent all season, and he is averaging 9.2 PPG without an elite edge counterpart like Von Miller. I imagine that average will go up pretty highly when Miller returns to full speed with Floyd switching sides along the defensive line.
Azeez Al-Shaair
Week 6 ECR Rankings: LB16
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB14 (16.5 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- 100% of snaps with an 18.2% tackle rate in Week 5?! HELL YEAH!
- If by some miracle he’s available in your leagues, pick him up now.
Blake Cashman
Week 6 ECR Rankings: LB58
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB18 (15.5 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- With Denzyl Perryman returning to action, it was Blake Cashman who saw the uptick in snap percentage in Week 5, surprisingly!
- While Perryman should return to playing the majority of defensive snaps soon, Cashman could be someone who could fill-in for you in a pinch this week as the Texans work Perryman back slowly into a full-time role.
Cody Barton
Week 6 ECR Rankings: LB25
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: LB45 (9.8 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- For you all who have read my content this season, you know how I feel about Cody Barton and his actual football play on the field.
- His actual play on the field, not withstanding, he gets you tackles.
- If he’s still available, sigh, pick him up.
K’Von Wallace
Week 6 ECR Rankings: DB12
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB2 (21.8 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- His box snap % has been unreal this season since taking over for Budda Baker.
- I’ve written about him for the past three weeks, telling you his blow-up game was coming, and it did in Week 5 versus Cincy.
- Welcome to him being in “must-start” designation territory as long as Baker is on IR.
Roger McCreary
Week 6 ECR Rankings: DB61
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: DB5 (19.3 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- Among cornerbacks for the Titans, McCreary has led all CBs in slot and box playing percentages on the season, and, most importantly, has produced for fantasy purposes.
- In CB-specific leagues, he’s a solid CB2, and even in DB-only leagues, he’s worth playing as a DB2/3 with DB1 upside.
Kareem Jackson
Week 6 ECR Rankings: DB38
Week 5’s Fantasy Point Finish: D35 (12.0 Points in Fantasy Pros Scoring)
- As a Commanders fan, I’m still angry about Jackson’s bullshit hit on Logan Thomas a few weeks ago. For fantasy purposes, he’s averaged a solid 10.7 PPG on the season, which has him as a DB3/FLEX on the season. Again, only roster in deeper leagues.
