IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 13 (2023)
Welcome to our thirteenth IDP Waiver Wire article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
As I did for Week 12, I will use FantasyPros Expert Consensus Rankings to base my weekly recommendations for players to roster. I believe using this method of identifying waiver recommendations will benefit people in newbie leagues all the way through to the more advanced IDP-playing fantasy managers. Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Waiver Wire recommendations for Week 13 (2023).
*Advanced metrics courtesy of PFF.com, FantasyData, and Player Profiler*
Andrew Van Ginkel
Week 13 ECR Rankings: DL51
- To me, this is the number one waiver priority for people in IDP leagues. Van Ginkel, in the four games he started due to Jaelan Phillips being out due to injury this season (Week 2-5), tallied 11 solo tackles, six assisted tackles, four sacks, and 2 PDs. He was also the DL6 with a 14.8 PPG.
- With Phillips out for the year due to injury, look for Van Ginkel to be thrust into the starting position once again and for him to pick up right where he left off.
Anfernee Jennings
Week 13 ECR Rankings: DL47
- According to PFF, since Week 10, Jennings has led all Patriot EDGE rushers in total pressures, sacks, and total tackles during that time span, making him the DL20 in FantasyPros IDP scoring with an average of 10.8 PPG.
- For those looking to fill in the defensive lineman void here in Week 13, Jennings could provide that upside play you’re looking for.
Calijah Kancey
Week 13 ECR Rankings: DL89
- The DL16 since Week 9 averaging 10.3 PPG, Kancey is someone who I’m adding to my rosters in DT-specific leagues right away.
- His pressure rate of 11.4% in Week 12 is second only to teammate and EDGE rusher Shaq Barrett, who had a pressure rate of 13.6%.
- Against one of the worst pass-blocking offensive lines in Week 13, Kancey has a big opportunity to eat this week.
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
Week 13 ECR Rankings: LB37
- I can admit when I am wrong on tips and advice, folks. I was wrong about Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Since Week 9, JOK has been the LB16 in PPG in FantasyPros IDP, scoring with an average of 15.2.
- While Anthony Walker is by far the more efficient linebacker per PFF metrics on the Browns and should eat into JOK snaps when he returns from injury, Koramoah is a linebacker I want to hold onto for my fantasy playoff push just in case the injury bug hits or continues to hit Walker going forward.
Isaiah McDuffie
Week 13 ECR Rankings: LB36
- Speaking of linebackers to roster for a playoff push, I want to roster Isaiah McDuffie as we approach the fantasy playoffs.
- Whether he’s come on in relief of Quay Walker missing time due to injury or De’Vondre Campbell missing time due to injury, McDuffie has, every time, stepped up and been a solid streaming linebacker for fantasy managers this season.
- At this point, if I were the Walker or Campbell managers, I would handcuff either linebacker with McDuffie.
Christian Harris
Week 13 ECR Rankings: LB46
- Snaps, snaps, and snaps. That is what it all comes down to for Harris.
- Does he have great efficiency metrics? He did in Week 12 in terms of tackle efficiency! I could make a big deal of his missed tackle efficiency, leaving something to be desired over the past couple of games, but I won’t.
- With Denzyl Perryman returning this week, my money is on Cashman being the linebacker to fade in this group for Houston, as his snaps took a hit when Perryman returned from injury a few weeks ago.
K’Von Wallace
Week 13 ECR Ranking: DB57
- In Weeks 11 & 12, we’ve seen Wallace return to fantasy relevance down in Tennesee, averaging 10.2 PPG using FantasyPros scoring.
- He and Elijah Molden mirrored each other in terms of box snaps played in that time span, making them both fantasy-valuable at the defensive back position. For those in deep IDP leagues, Wallace could be that Diamond in the rough for your teams for the remainder of the season.
Tashaun Gipson, Sr.
Week 13 ECR Rankings: Not Ranked
- It was Gipson, not Ji-Ayir Brown, who played a majority of box snaps last week versus Seattle.
- I’m following the snaps here and rolling with Tashaun in SF until the Brown does something more relevant to change my mind.
Jonathan Owens
Week 13 ECR Rankings: DB17
- Averaging nine total tackles a game over the past four weeks as well as 16.6 PPG or the DB2 during that time span, Owens is as “set it and forget it” as it gets at defensive back at this point in the season. If he’s available, pick him up ASAP!
