Welcome to our tenth IDP Start & Sit article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
Hey everyone, it’s Nate Marcum!. Whether you’re newer to IDP or have been playing for years, my goal of these starts and sits is to provide you with stud picks I’m a huge fan of each week, from your top-tier players to play in your shallow leagues down to deeper league options. However, with the good picks come the ones I am less high on that you should consider alternatives for each week. Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Starts & Sits for Week 10 (2023).
Defensive Linemen
Starts
DeMarcus Lawrence (DAL) v NYG
- Ideal matchup v Evan Neal
- Despite only having two sacks, Lawrence has a 14.3% pressure rate on the season.
- Multiple games with a 40% win-rate or greater
- Giants QBs sacked an NFL high 49 times
Boye Mafe (SEA) v WSH
- Has recorded a sack in six consecutive games
- Washington has allowed the 2nd most sacks. Also has the 2nd highest sack % of dropbacks (11%)
- Addition of Leonard Williams will add more pressure to Commanders’ O-Line
Odafe Oweh (BAL) v CLE
- Has come back in a very strong way. Oweh’s 13 pressures since returning are 13th in NFL.
- Browns’ LT, Jedrick Wills, placed on IR
- Browns bottom 10 in sacks allowed and sack%
Sit
Harold Landry III (TEN) v TB
- Matchup v Luke Goedeke subpar. Goedeke has only allowed two sacks on season.
- Landry coming back from ACL is a slow process. Only has one game with a 10% win-rate, and that came against Pitt, a bottom 10 team in pass blocking.
Joey Bosa (LAC) v DET
- Really tough to sit Bosa after posting 3.5 sacks over past two games.
- Bosa has the league’s toughest assignment against Penei Sewell.
- True sack or bust with low tackle floor
Cameron Jordan (NO) v MIN
- Brian O’Neill has been unforgiving against opposing pass-rushers.
- On the season, O’Neill has limited Rashan Gary, Nick Bosa, George Karlaftis, Joey Bosa and Haason Reddick to minimal production.
Linebackers
Start
Devin Lloyd (JAX) v SF
- After missing Weeks 4 & 5, Lloyd has returned with a vengeance.
- LB21 from Wk 6-8, averaging 9.6 tackles/gm and 1 PD
- Despite missing two games, Lloyd leads LBs in PBUs
- Plus matchup against the Purdy and the 49ers, who have thrown five interceptions over the past three games.
Isaiah McDuffie (GB) v PIT
- Quay Walker unlikely to play Week 10
- McDuffie has been quality when on the field with a 16.7% tackle rate and only a 4.3% missed tackle rate.
- Volume and solid tackle floor, mixed with heavy zone defense all recipe for LB2/3 upside.
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (CLE) v BLT
- If you’re looking for a true boom or bust play, here you go.
- Hasn’t played more than 60% of snaps since Week 6 vs SF. In that game, he was the LB10.
- Baltimore allows the most tackles to opposing LBs.
- If Cleveland is looking to keep running game in check, JOK is tied for 2nd in the NFL among LBs with 10 tackles for loss.
Sit
E.J. Speed (IND) v NE
- With Zaire Franklin missing Week 9, many thought it would be an uptick in snaps for both Shaq Leonard and EJ Speed. We were wrong as the Colts elected to go with Segun Olubi.
- Zaire Franklin could miss Week 10, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see the same snap breakdown.
Elandon Roberts (PIT) v GB
- The good ole Elandon Roberts v Kwon Alexander debate. Is there really a winner?
- While Roberts has been the more efficient tackler of the two, it was Alexander who had the game-sealing interception in Week 9, as well as received word that he was going to be wearing the green dot.
- With Holcomb out for the season, there is time to see just how this LB carousel unfolds, but for Week 10, I don’t want to pay to get on this ride.
Jack Campbell (DET) v LAC
- The uncertainty of snaps for the LB2 in Detroit is just too much to risk.
- The Chargers are already a poor matchup against opposing LBs, we shouldn’t add the snap % risk to the mix.
Defensive Backs
Start
Markquese Bell (DAL) v NYG
- Outsnapped Damone Clark in Week 9
- Averaged seven tackles/gm over past three games. 14.7% tackle rate.
- LB production with DB designation. Take advantage while you still can
Rayshawn Jenkins (JAX) v SF
- Since Week 6, Jenkins has played the most snaps in the box..aka close to the line of scrimmage..the over the past four weeks than any other safety on the Jaguars.
- He should have plenty of opportunity to pad the stat sheet against SF as the 49ers are allowing the most total tackles on the season to the safety position, and given their run-heavy nature, Jenkins is in line for solid production for you in fantasy this week
Devon Witherspoon (SEA) v WSH
- Averaging a tackle per target on the season. Washington have attempted more passes than any other team.
- Witherspoon has been bouncing between slot corner and out wide. The Seattle pass-rush should put pressure on Howell, which could lead to a big play for the rookie corner.
- I wouldn’t be surprised if he is sent on the blitz like he was in Week 5 against the Giants, another team with pass-blocking issues.
Sit
Ryan Neal (TB) v TEN
- Saw his role virtually disappear in Week 9.
- Poor in coverage, ranking 92nd out of 93 qualifying safeties
Jordan Whitehead (NYJ) v LV
- Box snaps have been nearly cut in half over the past four games, with Tony Adams seeing heavy box usage.
- Averaging a mere five tackles per game over the past month.
- Las Vegas averages the 7th fewest tackles to safeties on the season
Jordan Poyer (BUF) v Den
- Poyer hasn’t practiced yet this week with an apparent leg injury.
- Denver has allowed the fewest points to opposing safeties on the season
- Has come on strong the last few weeks, but injury plus poor matchup has me considering other options.
