IDP Fantasy Football Starts for Week 5 (2022)
Welcome to our IDP Fantasy Football Starts for Week 5 of the 2022 fantasy football season!
Unlike our Fantasy Football Starts & Sits on offense, given the broad range of IDP scoring settings available to people that can throw a player’s perceived value through a loop, for our IDP section, we’ll just be recommending to you players you should consider starting this week based on the potential for high statistical output and positional 1,2, or 3 relevance assuming you’re rolling three deep on your starting roster per positional designation. So sit back, relax and enjoy our IDP Fantasy Football Starts for Week 5!
Defensive Backs
START: Deshon Elliott versus The New England Patriots
Elliot played a majority of snaps from the box last week, coming on in relief of Tracy Walker, who is out for the season due to injury. His opportunity against a limited offense this week that will likely run this ball most of the time bodes well for his fantasy output in Week 5.
Fire him up with confidence
Additional Starting Candidates: Kamren Curl vs. The Tennessee Titans and Kevin Byard versus The Washington Commanders
Defensive Lineman
START: Rashan Gary versus The New York Giants

Gary will look to come off of his 7 tackle, 2 sack performance and dominate a porous Giants offensive line, specifically Evan Neal. Neal has allowed 10 pressures and 4 sacks on the season, and with “who knows” playing at Quarterback, may God have mercy on their soul because Gary will show no mercy this Sunday.
Additional Starting Candidates: Alex Highsmith versus The New York Jets and Chandler Jones versus The Kansas City Chiefs
Linebackers
START: Malcolm Rodriguez versus The New England Patriots

As mentioned in my START/SITS article for Week 5, the Patriots are going to employ a run-heaving offense this week which should bode well for the rookie linebacker for the Lions who is coming off of a 9 TT, a TFL, and FF performance against Seattle last week.
Fire up “Rodrigo” with confidence this week.
Additional Starting Candidates: Cole Holcomb versus The Tennessee Titans and Leighton Vander Esch vs. The Los Angeles Rams
