Unlike our Fantasy Football Starts & Sits on offense, given the broad range of IDP scoring settings available to people that can throw a player’s perceived value through a loop, for our IDP section, we’ll just be recommending to you players you should consider starting this week based on potential statistical output. Defensive Backs
START: Donovan Wilson versus The Washington Commanders

I mean…..maybe I owe him an apology? He’s not an efficient tackler whatsoever based on his over 20% missed tackle rate. That being said, we’re talking IDP fantasy football, not real football, and for IDP fantasy football, having a strong safety on our rosters that spends the second most number of snaps in the box than any other safety in the NFL and is 10th among defensive backs in total tackles with a 19:5 solo to assist ratio is pretty much the holy grail of defensive backs for fantasy purposes. Fire him up again this week versus Washington.
Additional Starting Candidates: Jonathan Owens vs. The Los Angeles Chargers and Rodney McCleod vs. The Tennessee Titans
Defensive Lineman
START: Jerry Hughes versus The Los Angeles Chargers
Jerry Hughes, the team leader in pressures and sacks on the season for the Houston Texans, will square off against the new left tackle for the Chargers, Storm Norton. In true passing situations, Hughes has the third highest one-on-one win percentage against offensive linemen this season in the NFL among edge rushers. Storm Norton has allowed a team-leading 9 pressures so far this season. With a hobbled Justin Herbert behind center and a porous offensive line, Hughes should feast with another productive performance this week.
Additional Starting Candidates: Charles Harris versus The Seattle Seahawks, Yannick Ngokoue versus The Tennessee Titans, and Rashan Gary versus The New England Patriots.
Linebackers
START: Ernest Jones versus The San Francisco 49ers
Despite the disparity in overall snap percentage between he and Bobby Wagner, Jones will look to have a solid day against the 49ers and their run-heavy offense this week. This isn’t going to be an explosive shootout between these two team where they’ll only have ONE linebacker in coverage, and the rest of the back end of the defense be defensive backs. Look for both linebackers to split snaps equally and Jones to provide you with a high total tackle floor this week.
