Welcome to our IDP Fantasy Football Starts for Week 12 of the 2022 fantasy football season!
Unlike our Fantasy Football Starts & Sits on offense, given the broad range of IDP scoring settings available to people that can throw a player’s perceived value through a loop, for our IDP section, we’ll just be recommending to you players you should consider starting this week based on the potential for high statistical output and positional 1, 2, or 3 relevance assuming you’re rolling three deep on your starting roster per positional designation. So sit back, relax and enjoy our IDP Fantasy Football Starts for Week 12!
Defensive Linemen/EDGE Rusher
START: Yannick Ngakoue versus The Pittsburgh Steelers

Ngakoue is coming off of a three total tackle, one and a half sack, and one forced fumble performance versus the Philadelphia Eagles and now has his sights on Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his way will be offensive tackle Dan Moore Jr., who has allowed ten pressures and two sacks to his quarterback in the past two weeks.
Fire up this former Terp in Week 12!
START: Alex Highsmith versus The Indianapolis Colts
As T.J. Watt goes, so does Alex Highsmith. Since Watt’s return against New Orleans a couple of weeks ago, Highsmith has posted six total tackles, two and a half sacks, and one forced fumble. This week, what makes this matchup so much fun is the situation along the Colts’ offensive line and how that can pretain to IDP upside for Highsmith managers this week. Matt Pryor, who was a major liability at QB protection this season, was replaced by Bernhard Raimann, and Raimann, in his relief, has also played poorly, allowing four pressures and two sacks the past couple of weeks!
Look for Highsmith to have a bounceback game this week against Indy.
Additional Starting Candidates: Denico Autry vs. The Cincinnati Bengals and Khalil Mack vs. The Arizona Cardinals
Defensive Backs
START: Jayron Kearse versus The New York Giants
With Donovan Wilson in danger of missing this Thanksgiving battle in the NFC East this Thursday, Kearse should have plenty of tackle upside to build off of his defensive performances last week. Against a dynamic running game the Minnesota Vikings possess, Wilson helped to keep that in check with five total tackles (4 solo/1 assisted), one TFL, one sack, and one PD. Facing another dynamic run-oriented team this week, look for Kearse to feast again.
START: Kerby Joseph versus The Buffalo Bills
GOTTA THANK GOD FOR THIS ONE🫶🏾✝️ pic.twitter.com/Do1bgz9AdO

Playmaker.
That sums up Kerby Joseph’s game since Week 7. Averaging 13.9 PPG (in Fantasy Pros IDP scoring) since that time, Joseph has been a defensive utility player for the Lions, and this week, he’ll take on a Bills team that will have him running all over the field to make plays. Look for his fantasy floor to remain steady for another week.
Additional Starting Candidates: Damar Hamlin vs. The Detroit Lions and Dane Belton vs. The Dallas Cowboys
Linebackers
START: Kaden Elliss versus The San Francisco 49ers
Whether he’s been playing in the middle of the field or rushing the passer, Elliss has been making big-time plays in relief of Pete Werner since Week 9. In those three games, he has tallied 23 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. With the amount of time this Saints defense should be on the field against the 49ers, Ellis is in for another big week again this week.
START: Rashaan Evans versus The Washington Commanders
Is it Walker? Is it Andersen? Is it Walker? Is it Andersen?
Who will be the best linebacker to roster this season for IDP?!
I have a solution. Play the consistent one in Rashaan Evans. Evans has only missed double-digit tackles per game once since Week 6 and has been averaging 16 PPG, which puts him as the LB1 during that time.
When in doubt, always play the sure thing.
Additional Starting Candidates: Frankie Luvu vs. The Denver Broncos and Josey Jewell vs. The Carolina Panthers
