As always I am going to give you some players I think could have a better week than expected or might have a worse game than predicted.
Here we go! Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Plays And Fades: Week 11 (2024).
Defensive Linemen:
Plays
- Tuli Tuipulotu, DE Chargers vs Bengals
- The former second-round pick from USC is the perfect backup to veterans Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa. Both of these veteran edge rushers have both been injury prone throughout their careers, and their ability to stay healthy week-to-week this season has become extremely iffy as Mack is now 33 years old and Bosa is 29 years old. When Tuipulotu gets a chance to see the field he produces. In his second season in the NFL, Tuipulotu is just 22 years old and already having his best season. The past three weeks, Tuipulotu has 11, 17.8, and 19 points in Fantasy Pros scoring with 5.5 sacks in those games. Those 5.5 sacks is a new career high. He has also added 25 tackles, two passes defensed, and one forced fumble.
- Even though Tuipulotu is technically not a starter for the Chargers, he has gotten a 65% snap share or more since Week 2 with a season-high 83% snap share last week against the Titans, where he had five tackles and two sacks. He finished as DL4 in Fantasy Pros scoring in Week 10. With Mack again questionable for this week’s game after only playing four snaps in Week 10, you should feel confident putting Tuipulotu in your lineup.
- DeForest Buckner, DT Colts at Jets
- Buckner had a 15.4% pressure rate in Week 10 against the Bills, which is outstanding for a defensive tackle. He had a 90.3 pass rush grade per PFF. He had eight tackles with four hurries, and one QB hit against Buffalo. It was the first game Buckner hasn’t recorded a sack in a game this season. He has 14 pressures in the last three games since missing five games with an injury. Buckner is second in points per game and second in points per snap among defensive tackles this season according to IDP+.
- In Buckner’s absence, defensive linemate Grover Stewart has been great this season. He has been a top 10 DL play the last three weeks averaging 14.6 points in Fantasy Pros scoring. Stewart has three sacks the last three weeks. Now the Colts duo gets the Jets, Lions, and Patriots the next three weeks. Those are some juicy matchups.
- Micah Parsons, DE/LB Cowboys vs Texans
- Parsons came back from the injured reserve list in Week 10. He had missed the previous five games, and was able to record his first sack since Week 1. Parsons had struggled a bit this season before the injury scoring double digit points in only one of the first four games of the season before going out with the injury.
- Parsons had a nice return against the Eagles, recording two sacks and a forced fumble to score 17.5 points in Fantasy Pros scoring. Even though the Cowboys are reeling as a team, Parsons gets another chance to add to his sack total in Week 11. The Texans C.J. Stroud is the second-most sacked quarterback in the NFL this season.
Fades
- Chase Young, DE Saints vs Browns
- Young signed a one-year prove-it deal with the Saints in the offseason. The oft-injured former number two overall pick has struggled to get it going this season. While he does have three total sacks, including one last week against the Falcons which included a forced fumble, that’s basically all Young has given you this year.
- Young saw a season-low 54% of snaps in Week 10. He has 12 solo tackles and seven assisted tackles in 10 games this season. Young has only played in 53 games in five seasons in the NFL.
- Bryce Huff, DE Eagles vs Commanders
- Huff got a sack in Week 10, to give him 2.5 sacks on the season, but this is a total mirage. He only played 12 snaps in this game with 11 of them coming on passing downs.
- Huff is only seeing a 20% snap share. He is getting brutal deployment at this point in the season and someone that should be nowhere near your starting lineup. Instead of becoming a full-time player for the Eagles, Huff’s role looks eerily similar to what it was in his early days in his NFL career with the Jets.
- Ed Oliver, DT Bills vs Chiefs
- While Oliver has been a good player in his career, especially if you are in a league where you start a defensive tackle, but he has been atrocious for fantasy purposes this season. He is playing 67.4% of snaps this season. Oliver missed Weeks 4-6 with an injury, since his return, he is averaging just 2.9 points per game.
- Oliver has only one sack this season, and that came in Week 2. He has scored 3.8 points or less in five of the seven games he has played in this season. Oliver is just giving you absolutely nothing this year.
Linebackers:
Plays
- Azeez Al-Shaair, LB Texans at Cowboys
- Al-Shaair came back from injury and made an immediate impact for the Texans. He was able to score 18.5 points with 8 tackles and a forced fumble in Week 10.
- Holding the fort down while he was out and now he should eat.
- Zach Baun, LB Eagles vs Commanders
- Baun had a monster first game for the Eagles scoring 30 points in Fantasy Pros scoring in the season opener. There hasn’t been a drop off since. He has two 20 plus point games in a row. Baun has three straight games where he has had a PFF grade over 90, which is second-highest to the 49ers Fred Warner this season.
- Baun is the top linebacker in Fantasy Pros scoring this season with 148.6 points and averaging 16.5 points per game. Baun started his career as an edge rusher for the Saints where he was a below average player. Since signing with the Eagles this season, Baun has flourished in his new role as an off-the-ball linebacker. He is playing for a new deal after the season. I don’t see Baun slowing down anytime soon.
- Patrick Queen, LB Steelers vs Ravens
- After signing a free agent deal with the Steelers in the offseason, there was some bad blood between Queen and his old team the Ravens. Queen said this week that Baltimore didn’t want him around and didn’t really try to re-sign him. In the off-season, there was quite a bit of trash talking. Queen said he really wanted to play for head coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers, which didn’t sit well with his former teammates, who weren’t happy about him signing with their bitter rival.
- Queen has taken some heat for his play this season, but he has turned it up of late. He’s coming off one of his best performances of the season with seven tackles, six solo, two tackles for a loss, and one pass defensed for a total of 16.3 points in Fantasy Pros scoring against the Commanders in Week 10. If Queen was ever going to be super motivated to have a big game, this is the one.
Fades
- Frankie Luvu, LB Commanders at Eagles
- When Luvu makes an impact play this season, he has looked outstanding. When he hasn’t, he has been extremely blah. He has been the quintessential boom or bust player this year. In his six games where he has failed to record a sack, Luvu is averaging only 7.7 points per game per Fantasy Pros with an average of six tackles per game. In games he has a sack, he is averaging a whopping 23.3 points per game.
- It is hard to sit him because of the boom potential, but he only has double digit tackles in one game this season. Luvu is a great flex play, but it is tough to count on him as your LB1 or LB2 this season. The Eagles matchup is not a great one either. They have an extremely good line, and will likely run the ball with Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia is second in the league in rushing yards at 176.1 yards per game. This game seems to favor linebacker Bobby Wagner or safety Jeremy Chinn over Luvu.
- Marist Liufau, LB Cowboys vs Texans
- Don’t by fooled by Liufau’s Week 10 output of 10 points in Fantasy Pros scoring. It was his first double digit scoring game of the season, but it came on a mere 23.5% snap share and a 25% tackle rate. He had four solo tackles and a fumble recovery.
- Coming into the game, Liufau was averaging just 2.8 points per game this season. He has had an over 50% snap share this season in just two games, and he scored a combined 6.8 points. Liufau is not worth starting at this point in his rookie season, and he is most likely not worth rostering at all unless something drastically changes.
- Kenneth Murray, LB Titans vs Vikings
- The upside for Murray is disappearing in front of our eyes. Even though he is still playing 100% of snaps for the Titans, the production isn’t there. Tennessee traded the Rams for linebacker Ernest Jones at the beginning of the season, but that didn’t last long. Now, Jones has been sent to Seattle. Why should this hurt Murray?
- Well, Jack Gibbens has taken over the last three weeks. He has eight tackles, 14 tackles, and 15 tackles in the last three games. In that same time span, Murray only has only one tackle, six tackles, and six tackles with only six of those tackles being solo stops. Gibbens has become the linebacker you want in Tennessee.
Defensive Backs:
Plays
- Kenny Moore, DB Colts at Jets
- Moore is getting back to his old self. Moore has scored in double digits in three straight games with 14.8, 21.5, and 17 points in Fantasy Pros scoring. He is playing 100% of snaps with 81% coming in at slot corner or in the box.
- Moore is making big game-changing plays of late with an interception and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown the past two weeks. He has been a top five DB play the past three weeks.
- Carlton Davis, DB Lions vs Jaguars
- Davis had a monster game against the Texans in Week 10. He picked off C.J. Stroud twice and added two passes defended to go along with four solo tackles to score 19 points in Fantasy Pros scoring to finish the week as DB2.
- Davis has had five top 15 DB finishes this season. Now, the Lions secondary gets Jaguars backup quarterback Mac Jones. Detroit should be in control of this game most of the way, forcing Jacksonville to play from behind and throw the football a lot. There should be a lot of takeaway opportunities this week for the Lions defense.
- Jalen Pitre, DB Texans at Cowboys
- Pitre had an awesome rookie season in 2022. He led all defensive backs with 147 tackles, which was good enough for 11th overall in the league in tackles. Pitre regressed during his sophomore season, recording 84 tackles, as the Texans defense improved and he wasn’t forced to make so many plays.
- After playing deep safety his first two seasons, Pitre has moved to the slot corner role this season. His scoring is up over three points per game since making the position switch. Pitre was playing 60% of his snaps deep last year, so far this season, he is playing just 1.2% of his snaps deep with just seven total snaps at free safety. With the better role this year, he has averaged 13.7 points per game the last three weeks, and now he gets a chance to go against Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush.
Fades
- Tyrique Stevenson, CB Bears vs Packers
- It felt like everyone in the country saw the final play where the Bears lost to the Commanders on a hail mary in Week 8, where Stevenson was talking smack to the fans as the final play of the game was underway. Eventually, Stevenson noticed the ball had been snapped and ran over to help on the 52-yard heave from Jayden Daniels. Stevenson ran over just in time to tip the ball into the air as it fell into the arms of Noah Brown for the game-winning touchdown. Stevenson got roasted in the media and eventually was told he was going to lose his starting gig the next week because of it.
- In Week 9 following the hail mary debacle, Stevenson scored 12 points on 79% of snaps against the Cardinals. But Stevenson’s snap share dropped to 57.8% in Week 10 against the Patriots. Stevenson had been playing almost 100% of snaps the first five weeks of the season. He scored just 5.3 points against New England after averaging 12.8 points a game the previous two games.
- Jevon Holland, S Dolphins vs Raiders
- He is playing 73.9% of snaps at deep safety and only 15.9% of snaps in the box this season. I don’t like those percentages. Holland has made some splash plays in the past, but has struggled to make any of those plays this season. He had his first impact play of the season with a sack in Week 10 against the Rams, but he still only had three tackles.
- Holland scored 10.3 points in Week 10, but it’s the first time he has scored double digits since Week 1, when he had four tackles, a pass defended, and his only other impact play with a forced fumble. Holland has fought injuries this season. Week 10 was his first full-time game played since Week 5.
- Mike Brown, S Titans vs Vikings
- Brown has taken over one of the starting safety spots for the Titans the last two weeks. He has had a decent start recording 13 tackles, eight solo, with one pass defensed in his two starts. Brown is the new deep safety for Tennessee. He played 98% of snaps in Week 10 with 64.9% of snaps at deep safety. He got 22.8% of snaps at box safety.
- It’s been a decent start for Brown, but he had barely seen the field this season prior to Week 9. I am keeping an eye on Brown moving forward, but he isn’t a player I’m running to the waiver wire to pick up just yet. I need to see a few more weeks of work before I can decide if he is worth a roster spot.
