The quarterback landscape of 2023 was perhaps one of the most bizarre and hard to navigate for fantasy as it’s ever been. This year, between injuries to many high-profile guys and a resurgence of Joe Flacco himself, had it all. Between all the craziness, however, a few gems emerged. CJ Stroud had an incredible rookie season. Brock Purdy took his team to the next level and competed for a Super Bowl. Even Aidan O’Connell turned his team around for the better and brought some fantasy relevance to the table.
These gems are exactly what we will discuss here as I tell you my top six targets for the 2024 season in Superflex leagues. The first set will be the guys I’m targeting in the early to mid-first round, and the second set will be the guys I think will make the difference for you in the Superflex position!
Here are my Favorite Quarterbacks to Target In Dynasty SF Startups in 2024 for your fantasy football leagues!
Set 1
Josh Allen
Allen led the way again this season and had a monster year doing so. The team has some fresh blood with Shakir and Kincaid, and both seemed to really gel well with Allen, especially as the season progressed. Whether or not they move on from Diggs, I see this team making serious changes to defensive depth this off-season that will greatly impact the offense’s performance. If they can keep teams from scoring, this team should be able to put on a ring finally.
CJ Stroud
Stroud had an amazing rookie season that many speculated the team was unprepared for. It went from only having Schultz to throw to to one of the nastiest receiving duos in the league with Nico Collins and Tank Dell. Despite all odds, this team made it to the second round of the playoffs! And this team is young. Having one season under their belts, this team will be dangerous next year, and Stroud should easily finish in the top 5, if not the top 3 in fantasy.
Jordan Love
Love went into Green Bay with some giant shoes to fill, and it wasn’t long before Packers fans were saying, “Aaron, who?” This guy also seemed to have limited options before the season but turned in a really decent stat line with the bolstering of their wideouts. The addition of Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks really paid off, and this team, too, made it into the playoffs. This team will also have to focus less on offense during the draft this year and make that defense the level they needs to be to make a deep run next year.
Set 2
Will Levis
Levis had a late start to the season, but he did pretty decent when he was out there. He gained the starting role from Malik Willis and by hyper-targeting DeAndre Hopkins, he turned in a great half-season performance. I think this guy can develop and that this team has a decent enough defense to stay in games. Treylon Burks should be healthy to start next year, and I think that tandem should be able to produce at least high double digits out of the Superflex spot. I anticipate this guy will be available around the 7th or even later, so he could return incredible value at that ADP.
Aidan O’Connell
O’Connell came on the scene this year and did what everyone has always wanted their quarterback to do. Find Devante and find him often. The Raiders are also a team with a decent defense and are just a few pieces away from being a problem to their opponents. This team likely moves on from Jacobs, but Zamir White looked more than serviceable in the position and should provide a valuable asset for O’Connell. Another guy I foresee bringing high double digits weekly in your Superflex spot with a late 7th or early 8th round ADP. There is huge value for this position.
Anthony Richardson
Richardson had a devastating injury in week 4, but before that, the quarterback proved very well prepared to take on the NFL. He is another mobile quarterback who can throw the ball on the run precisely, making this team take a step up. They’ll have Jonathan Taylor back, and hopefully, that will help alleviate some of the need for him to run out of the pocket and try to lean into linebackers that are three times his size, lending to a hopefully longer season. If he can stay on the field, finishing as a QB1 is well within reach for a kid with his talent and opportunity. He’ll have a higher ADP than the first two guys, but I still think if he slides to the 3rd as I anticipate, he will, he could return a truckload of value in that spot.
