Week 8 wasn’t our best effort as we got a little cute with a couple of deep sleepers, but we’re ready to bounce back and have a successful FF Week 9. Here are my four pass-catchers with favorable matchups to start in your WR3 / FLEX spots this week.
Also, if you haven’t already make sure you tune into @4thAndFrames each week to hear about more players on offense with prime matchups as well:
Emmanuel Sanders – Buffalo Bills
The veteran pass-catcher is coming off of his first zero reception game of the season but now gets to face a Jacksonville Jaguars secondary that grades inside the bottom six in Defensive Coverage vs Receivers, according to PFF. The Bills passing offense is one of the best in the NFL, and they should feast against a below-average Jaguars pass defense.
Jaylen Waddle – Miami Dolphins

The former Alabama speedster had a quiet outing against a stout Buffalo Bills defense in a losing Miami effort last week but now gets the chance to rebound with a big performance against one of the worst defenses in the league as the Dolphins host the Texans. Houston grade out 31st in the NFL in Defensive Coverage vs Receivers, according to PFF. With DeVante Parker ruled out, it’s set up for Waddle to have a big game.
Marquez Callaway – New Orleans Saints
The pre-season darling has had back-to-back ‘meh’ games but has a great opportunity to make himself FF relevant once again as his Saints side take on divisional rivals, Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons grade inside the bottom 10 for Defensive Coverage vs Receivers according to PFF, and even without starting QB Jameis Winston, you would expect a play-caller as good as Sean Payton to target such an obvious weakness.
Chase Claypool – Pittsburgh Steelers

MNF and the Steelers host a Bears team who’s having some trouble putting the clamps on opposing pass-catchers. Chase Claypool has had a couple of quiet outings since his 5-130-1 outing against the Denver Broncos, and I think the big-bodied Canadian can have himself another big day here against a Bears secondary that grades inside the bottom 4 for Defensive Coverage vs Receivers, according to PFF.
