Favorable Wide Receiver Matchups for Week 15 (2021)
Each week Fantasy In Frames is highlighting key wide receiver matchups to take advantage of. Here are four favorable wide receiver matchups for Week 15
It was a disappointing Week 14 for us, with only Tyler Lockett performing for our fantasy teams, but now the Playoffs are here, and if you’re reading this, I’m going to assume your FF team has made the tournament and for that, I tip my hat. Here are four WRs that have favorable matchups this week and could help YOU progress to the next round of your FF playoffs.
Christian Kirk – Arizona Cardinals
With DeAndre Hopkins ruled out for at least the remainder of the regular season, Christian Kirk looks set to have a bigger piece of the offensive pie. Kirk already has six double-digit fantasy scoring weeks (FanDuel scoring) and is up against a Detroit Lions side that grades 31st in ‘Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers’, according to PFF. I like Kirk as a must-start WR3 this week.
DeVonta Smith – Philadelphia Eagles
Rookie pass-catcher DeVonta Smith has had an inconsistent first year in the NFL, with limited targets in an offense that runs the ball better than they pass it. The former Alabama receiver has impressed with his route-running and ability to separate, and with the Eagles coming off their bye week, there’s a hope that the offense will utilize their best weapon a little more the rest of the way. Smith will be up against a Washington defense that whilst better in recent weeks, still grades inside the bottom-10 in ‘Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers’, according to PFF.
Laquon Treadwell – Jacksonville Jaguars
The former first-round pick has seemingly found himself a home in Duval. the ex-Viking has three 4-reception games in a row, and with at least 53 receiving yards in each of those games, we can clearly see his floor. If Treadwell can score his first TD for the Jags against a Texans defense that grades dead-last in ‘Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers’, per PFF, then he could give us low-end WR2 numbers in this important week.
DeVante Parker – Miami Dolphins
Big-bodied veteran WR DeVante Parker has had an injury-plagued campaign, featuring in only six games so far this season. When Parker has been available, he’s been a part of the offense with at least seven targets in all but one of his six appearances and 60 or more receiving yards in four. The former first-round selection will be up against a Jets defense that grades bottom-3 in the NFL for ‘Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers’, per PFF.
