Every week this season, Fantasy In Frames is going to help you stream quarterbacks and tight ends by going over which ones have some of the most favorable matchups each week.
“A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence.” – Jim Watkins
Last week was not great for our streaming recommendations. However, we will be persistent and continue to watch the football game and research the stats. It does not matter what your record is right now because now is not the time to give up. There are plenty of games left to play, and even if you are 0-5, you can be persistent and grind out of that whole one week at a time. The bye weeks have started and there have been some QB and TE injuries, so now is the time to check the waiver wire and take advantage of desirable matchups.
How Did We Do?
For the season we have recommended streaming a QB1 40% of the time, and for Week 5 we whiffed on 0 out of 3.
QBs were rough in Week 5 because Daniel Jones (QB34) was concussed and did not finish the game, Trey Lance (QB23) did great rushing but did not score any TDs, and Sam Darnold (QB30) came back to earth with 1 TD and 3 INTs and no rushing TDs.
For the season we have recommended streaming a TE1 23% and a TE2 55% of the time, and for Week 5 we were 1 out of 2 for TE1.
The process for TEs was good this week because we followed the targets. Dalton Schultz (TE7) had 6 receptions on 8 targets for 79 yards. Zach Ertz was a flop as the TE54, but he had 6 targets! Unfortunately, he turned that into 1 reception for 7 yards.
On to Week 6!
Week 6 Bye Week Teams (impacted QBs and TEs): Atlanta Falcons (QB – Matt Ryan – 30.5% rostered; TE – Kyle Pitts – 97.3% rostered), New Orleans Saints (QB Jameis Winston – 24.4% rostered), New York Jets, and San Francisco 49ers (QB – Trey Lance 30.5% rostered; TE – George Kittle 96.9% rostered)
Quarterbacks to Stream – Week 6

Trevor Lawrence has been mediocre through 5 games as the QB24 and averaging 16.2 ppg. This week Lawrence is playing the Miami Dolphins, who allow the 3rd most points per game (30.8) and allow the 6th most fantasy points per game to QBs (22.4). An issue for Lawrence has been interceptions and he has the 2nd most with 8, but the Dolphins only have 2 interceptions through 5 games. Lawrence has thrown the 2nd most interceptable passes (19), according to Player Profiler. Lawrence has earned fantasy points as a sneaky running QB. He ran plenty in college, but most people do not think of Lawrence as QB who runs. He is 8th in QB rushing attempts (24), 7th in red zone carries (6), and 5th in QB rushing TDs (2). Trevor Lawrence was the QB7 in Week 5, and he is capable of scoring well in another advantageous matchup in Week 6.
Taylor Heinicke (vs KC) – 25.9% rostered in ESPN:
Taylor Heinicke played terribly in Week 5. However, that happens to every quarterback. In his first 3 starts (Weeks 2-4), he scored at least 21 points. Heinicke is 11th in passing TDs (8) and threw at 2 TDs each game, Weeks 2-4. He is 8th best in deep ball competition % (42.9%) and has a stud WR to target, Terry McLaurin. Heinicke is considered a streamer this week because of his matchup. The Kansas City Chiefs are the most favorable matchup for QBs, giving up 28.7 ppg! The expectation is the Football Team will need to score a lot to keep up with the Chiefs offense, so this is a great opportunity for Taylor Heinicke to score significant fantasy points.
Tight Ends to Stream – Week 6
Zach Ertz (vs TB) – 32% rostered in ESPN:
Zach Ertz was a miss last week as a streamer. We are going back again this week because Dallas Goedert is out this week. Ertz’s snaps should increase (60% in Week 5) and he should continue to have a lot of targets (averaged 7 targets the last 3 weeks). The Tampa Buccaneers’ defense has a strong defensive line, but they have suffered a lot of injuries in the secondary. The Bucs have given up the 6th most fantasy points to TEs this season (13.6 ppg). Over the last 3 weeks, Ertz has the 7th most TE targets (21) and 11th highest target share (14.7%), and that was with Goedert playing and having 11 targets for an 11.2% target share at the time. Ertz is primed for a big game because the Eagles will pass a lot since the Bucs are dominant at stopping the run.
Ricky Seals-Jones (vs KC) – 7.1% rostered in ESPN:
Ricky Seals-Jones has a true every-down role, is actually a good receiver, free in fantasy land, set up great in a shootout against the Chiefs, and it's like none of you even care pic.twitter.com/H0ld2bIFt4
— Ian Hartitz (@Ihartitz) October 13, 2021
When this season started I did not expect to ever recommend streaming Ricky Seals-Jones, so how did we get here? Logan Thomas is on IR, and Seals-Jones led all TEs in Week 5 with a 98.9% snap share. He had the 3rd most TE targets in Week 5 (8), which was a 20% target share. That is the workload we should chase when looking for TE streams. Finally, he has a fantastic matchup this week because he is playing against the Kansas City Chiefs, who give up the 3rd most fantasy points to TEs (14.8 ppg). This streamer recommendation is all about potential opportunities and a great matchup.
Dan Arnold (vs MIA) – 3.3% rostered in ESPN:
Dan Arnold was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Week 5 was his first full week with the team. Arnold had a season-high 73.2% snap share. He led the team in target share (24.2%) with 8 targets, which was the 3rd most TE targets in Week 5. Unfortunately, the touchdown went to the other tight end last week, but Arnold is expected to have more opportunities again this week. The Miami Dolphins defense has given up 11.3 fantasy ppg to TEs this season, and Arnold can take advantage of this matchup. We only have one true week of data for Dan Arnold with the Jaguars, but his target share is encouraging to have plenty of opportunities as a streaming tight end this week.
