Favorable QB & TE Matchups for Week 11 (2021)

Every week this season, Fantasy In Frames is going to help you at the quarterback and tight end position by providing you with some of the best favorable matchups of the Week. This week, let’s discuss the favorable QB & TE Matchups for Week 11!

Next week is Thanksgiving, which is a wonderful football holiday! That means we only have a few weeks left until the fantasy football playoffs begin. At this point, if you do not have more than seven losses then you should still be in playoff contention. If you are 3-7 then you can still win four in a row to make the playoffs at 7-7. Your record doesn’t matter once you are in the playoffs because any team can get hot and win a few games in a row to win the championship. There are so many stories in the fantasy football community about the worst record team in the playoffs winning the championship. Keep pushing and churning those rosters to finish the season strong! Even if you are out of playoff contention, now is the time to work on your process and gain experience to help you be better next season. Now let’s talk about quarterbacks and tight ends to pick up and stream this week to help you earn the next win!

How Did We Do?

For the season we have recommended streaming a QB1 40% of the time, and for Week 10 we did terrible going 0 for 3 after Taysom Hill did not start again and Matt Ryan and Teddy Bridgewater put up duds. I still trust the process, and we will continue to push to improve this week!

For the season, we have recommended streaming a TE1 44% and a TE2 68% of the time, and for Week 10 we were 2 for 3 for TE1 with Tyler Conklin (TE4) and Dan Arnold (TE7) continuing to score well! Pat Freiermuth’s hot streak ended thanks to Mason Rudolph being a last-minute starter with Ben Roethlisberger testing positive for COVID-19 on Saturday night, but Freiermuth still had a healthy eight targets in the game.

Week 11 Bye Week Teams (impacted QBs and TEs): Denver Broncos (TE Noah Fant), Los Angeles Rams (QB Matt Stafford and TE Tyler Higbee)

Quarterbacks to Stream – Week 11

Tua Tagovailoa (@ NYJ) – 40.3% rostered in ESPN:

Tua Tagovailoa did not start in Week 10, but was forced onto the field when Jacoby Brissett was injured and he looked solid! Tua has been named the starter for Week 11 so I trust he is healthy enough. Tua had two great matchups this season, Week 6 at Jacksonville and Week 7 versus Atlanta, and he was great for fantasy football with 25.36 points (QB11) in Week 6 and 34.54 points (QB1) in Week 7. Tua has another great matchup this week against the New York Jets, as they allow the most points scored per game in the NFL (32.9).

Cam Newton (vs WSH) – 25.9% rostered in ESPN:

Cam Newton is a high-risk/high reward streamer because this will be his first game started since 2020. When he played on the New England Patriots in 2020 he did look good as a passer and most of his fantasy points came from his rushing touchdowns. However, he did not have a talented wide receiver group in New England. In Week 10, Newton only played 9 snaps, but scored a rushing touchdown the first time he touched the ball and threw a touchdown too! He will not maintain that touchdown rate, but it gets you excited for his “Konami code” QB rushing abilities. Newton has not officially been named the Week 11 starter as of this article being published Thursday morning, but he is expected to be the starter. The Washington Football Team’s defense has been a significant disappointment and they just lost their best player, Chase Young, last week due to injury (ACL). They are the BEST matchup for quarterbacks for fantasy points giving up 24.2 per game to quarterbacks. Cam Newton has so much “boom” potential as a dual-threat QB in an amazing matchup.

Mac Jones (@ ATL) – 18.3% rostered in ESPN:

Is Mac Jones the best rookie QB? Maybe. He currently is beating the rookie quarterback passing completion rate at 69%. He is coming off his 2nd best game for fantasy points and threw 3 touchdowns for the first time this season. There is a chance the New England Patriots run all over the Atlanta Falcons, but they have been a great matchup for quarterbacks giving up the 3rd most fantasy points to the position (21.8). In a deeper league, Mac Jones is a streamer that has the ability and matchup to be a QB1 in Week 11.

Tight Ends to Stream – Week 11

Tyler Conklin (vs GB) – 40.5% rostered in ESPN:

We have been talking about Tyler Conklin for a month now so hopefully, you already roster him, but he is still below 50% rostership. Last week we talked about Conklin’s positive volume of opportunities and great matchup, but he hadn’t scored a touchdown since Week 3. Well, he scored two touchdowns in Week 10 and was the TE4 in Week 10! There isn’t much more to say about Tyler Conklin that hasn’t been said over the last four weeks in this article series. He is still available in more than half of the leagues and has been the TE4 since Week 8 (12.1 ppg).

Dan Arnold (vs SF) – 33.6% rostered in ESPN:

Dan Arnold has been talked about for about a month too, and he is still available in two-thirds of leagues! Last week we talked about Arnold leading all tight ends in targets, receptions, and yards from Week 8 to Week 9. Now over the last three weeks, Arnold is tied for 2nd in targets (24), tied for 1st in receptions (17), and 2nd in yards (195). He is the TE3 over the last three weeks, and he hasn’t scored a touchdown during that span! Pick up Arnold and enjoy the incredible volume for a tight end, and when he finally scores a touchdown he could be a weekly winner for you. Arnold’s opportunities can no longer be considered a blip, but clearly, the Jaguars’ offensive scheme features the tight end.

Cole Kmet (vs BAL) – 11.3% rostered in ESPN:

Finally, a new tight end for the article! Cole Kmet is a speculative streamer coming off of his bye week, but there has been positive momentum from the Bears’ offense the last couple of games. In the two games before the bye week (Week 8 and 9), Kmet had the 4th most tight end targets in the NFL (14), which led to the 3rd most yards (111). He did not score any touchdowns during that time which is why he was only the TE9, which is still great as a streamer! The Baltimore Ravens are the 3rd best matchup for tight ends giving up 14.2 fantasy points per game to the position. They shut down Mike Gesicki last week (0 rec on 7 targets), but CB Marlon Humphrey, the Ravens’ best cornerback, covered him a lot. I do not expect the same defensive scheme to be used against the Bears. Kmet still has a great fantasy matchup this week, and he should be streamed if Dan Arnold and Tyler Conklin are rostered.
