Welcome to our nineth Waiver Wire article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
Here are my Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 9 (2023) recommendations. May these players aide in marching you towards your league’s playoffs and championship!
This list consists of players rostered in less than 50% of leagues on Sleeper.
- Will Levis – 7% rostered on Sleeper
- Titans have 7 passing TDs on the season; 4 of them were in Levis’s 1st game.
- Tannehill has been one of the worst QBs this season in almost every major category and has no upside. Take the gamble on Levis. He’s arguably the best still available.
- Sam Howell – 46% rostered on Sleeper
- Leads league in passing attempts and TDs since Week 5. He’s got weapons plus their DST isn’t stopping anyone.
- Finished Top 15 in 6 of 8 games this season which could easily be Top 10 with four teams on bye and all the injuries at QB.
- Baker Mayfield – 33% rostered on Sleeper
- Tampa Bay leads the league in Pass Play % over the past 3 games after a concerted effort to get the ball to their playmakers
- Bye week passed, and exploitable matchups for ROS starting with Texans, Titans, Colts and a recently suspect Niners DEF.
- Zach Charbonnet – 48% rostered on Sleeper
- 10.6 yards per carry and 2 receptions last week against a great Browns DST
- Kenneth Walker’s has been an injury risk all season which could catapult Charbonnet to RB1 status if he missed time.
- Leonard Fournette – 18% rostered on Sleeper
- Dual-threat who finished RB14 overall on a terrible run-blocking offense last season.
- Latavius Murray and Damien Harris (IR) have been underwhelming, providing an opportunity for Leonard to be the #2 option or starter if Cook is injured.
- Jeff Wilson, Jr. – 44% roster on Sleeper
- Averaged a respectable 4.6 Yards per Carry and caught 2 of 2 targets in his 1st action of the season.
- De’Von Achane is slated to return Week 11 but this isn’t guaranteed; especially with a knee injury and his smaller frame. Either way, Wilson should still be involved.
- Michael Wilson – 23% rostered on Sleeper
- Big-play threat averaging 16 Yards Per Reception and an increase in Targets each of the last four weeks.
- Will be #1 WR waiver wire add when Kyler Murray returns so add now.
- Quentin Johnston – 35% rostered on Sleeper
- Increase in Snap% and Targets each of the past three weeks including a season high in target and receptions last week.
- Injuries to Joshua Palmer and Gerald Everett have potential to keep this trend going.
- Demario Douglas – 6% rostered on Sleeper
- Kendrick Bourne out for season, Devante Parker stays injured and Ju-Ju stays ineffective paves the way for upside as Pats’ de facto WR1.
- Favorable schedule over the next few weeks against the Commanders, Colts, Giants, and Chargers who all have suspect coverage units.
- Trey McBride – 28% rostered on Sleeper
- #1 waiver wire add overall. Tied Ceedee Lamb, Diontae Johnson and DK Metcalf with 14 targets last week. Doesn’t even sound right.
- Ertz is on IR and could return in three weeks, but the succession plan will be activated early with the Cardinals record 1-7 record
- Taysom Hill – 42% rostered on Sleeper
- Top 5 TE finishes the past two weeks and TE12 Week 6, the Saints have figured out they have to get Taysom the ball
- Even if you subtract the receiving yards he loses because of the return of Juwan Johnson (in theory), Hill still has 81yds and 3 TDs rushing the past two games. Ride the hot hand.
- Chigoziem Okonkwo – 20% rostered on Sleeper
- DEEEEP sleeper here but Chig actually had a respectful 4 Receptions on 6 Targets in Will Levis’ 1st game.
- Last season, he led all TEs with 14.1 Yards Per Reception (min. 11 Rec) The upside is there if he and Levis develop chemistry.
- Atlanta Falcons – 34% rostered on Sleeper
- Easily one of the slowest and lowest scoring games of the week with Cousins out, and huge upside for turnovers with Jaren Hall or new acquisition starting.
- Falcons DST has one of the best ROS schedules including Saints twice, Cardinals, Bears, Colts, Panthers and Jets.
- Cincinnati Bengals – 11% rostered on Sleeper
- Top 10 finishes in the past three weeks with Burrow playing better.
- Tough match-up against the Bills this week, but they do give-up sack and turnovers. Plus Bengals have a favorable schedule including sketchy weather in Cincy and no dome games ROS.
- Los Angeles Chargers – 20% rostered on Sleeper
- Take out their game against the Chiefs, the Chargers have been a fringe Top 10 DST since Week 3.
- Chargers have four games with 4+ sacks and four with at least one interception. Lovin those numbers against Zach Wilson and Jets. Schedule after is streamable most weeks.
