Welcome to our seventh Waiver Wire article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!
As we move closer to the halfway point of the fantasy football season it’s important to remain calm, and not panic. Whether you’re 6-0, or 0-6 you need to stay vigilant on waivers and try to find the diamonds in the rough. If you have lost hope, just know I once made the playoffs in a home league where I started 1-5, so it can be done. Here are some suggestions for week 7 that are likely on your waiver wire. Go out and attack waivers, good luck!
This list consists of players rostered in less than 50% of leagues on Sleeper.
- Sam Howell- Washington Commanders 38%
- Howell has put together back-to-back 20+ fantasy points and is improving week to week.
- PFF has Sam Howell as the QB9 in passing yards with 1,500 yards this season and is QB5 on total pass attempts.
- Joshua Dobbs- Arizona Cardinals 15%
- Joshua Dobbs is QB15 in fantasy scoring, according to PFF.
- He gets Seattle this week, who have allowed 3rd most passing yards with 282 yards per game.
- Baker Mayfield- Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28%
- He is tied for QB12 in TD passes and has great weapons in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
- He is dealing with a hand contusion in his non-throwing hand, but X-rays were negative, and all signs point to him playing this Sunday.
- Jordan Mason – San Francisco 49ers 44%
- Christian McCaffrey went down with an oblique injury, and Jordan Mason stepped up with 5 carries for 27 yards and a TD.
- Jordan Mason looks more explosive than Elijah Mitchell, so I would make him the priority pickup in this backfield. CMC has also shown to have a history of injuries.
2. Craig Reynolds- Detroit Lions 22%
- Head Coach Dan Campbell told reporters that Monty will be out “a little bit” due to a rib injury suffered in Sunday’s win over the Bucs. Jahmyr Gibbs is dealing with a hamstring injury himself.
- The Lions have been using two RBs all year, so even if Gibbs returns, Craig Reynolds will still continue to see touches.
3. Kareem Hunt- Cleveland Browns 36%
- Kareem Hunt looked like the Kareem Hunt in the past, running the ball hard, picking up 47 yards on the ground and a score against the 49ers’ stout defense.
- He should continue to get some touches against a middle-of-the-road run defense at the Indianapolis Colts next week.
- Rondale Moore- Arizona Cardinals 9%
- Even though Rondale Moore had a subpar stat line against the Rams, going for only 30 yards on 4 catches, he still had seven targets and continued to get volume in this offense.
- He now gets the Seattle Seahawks this week who allow the 3rd most passing yards per game.
2. Wan’dale Robinson- New York Giants 18%
- Robinson caught 8 balls for 62 yards against the Buffalo Bills on SNF.
- Someone has to step up at the WR position for the Giants and Wan’dale Robinson could be breaking out soon.
3. Rashee Rice- Kansas City Chiefs 45%
- Against the Broncos last week, he had 4 catches for 72 yards and finished 2nd in receiving behind Travis Kelce. We could be seeing a breakout from this kid, so I would stash him now before it’s too late.
- He has a plus matchup with the Chargers, Broncos, and the Dolphins before the bye week.
- Michael Mayer- Las Vegas Raiders 5%
- Mayer played on 57 snaps last week and had a career day with 5 catches for 75 yards.
- Very nice matchups ahead with Bears, Lions, Giants, Jets, and Dolphins. Get him while you can.
- Tyler Conklin- New York Jets 10%
- He’s hit or been near double-digit PPR points in 3 games so far. He’s on a bye this week, but still worth the stash.
- Zach Wilson is playing better and has targeted Conklin 25 times so far this season.
- Luke Musgrave- Green Bay Packers 19%
- Musgrave has 18 catches for 159 yards on 23 targets this season. He has built a solid connection with first-year starter Jordan Love.
- He is now coming off the bye week, and upcoming games against the Broncos, Vikings, and Rams are all plus matchups.
- Indianapolis Colts 28%
- Colts defense may not look impressive but they do get to the QB as they have racked up 18 total sacks.
- They have a soft remaining schedule with the Browns, Saints, Panthers and Patriots before their bye.
- Arizona Cardinals 9%
- Even though they do have the Seahawks in week 7 the next 3 weeks are streamable with the Ravens, Browns and Falcons.
- Budda Baker has been out on IR and is due to come off this week. Something to monitor as he single handedly could make a big difference to this defense.
- Seattle Seahawks 22%
- They get the Arizona Cardinals this week, where Josh Dobbs is QB17 on passing yards.
- They then get Cleveland, Baltimore, and Washington.
