Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts & Sits (2021)

We have made it through the first three weeks of the fantasy football season and we are already seeing some unpredicabtle things happen. Through the first three weeks, Kyler Murray, Derrick Henry and Cooper Kupp are the overall leaders just as we all predicted right? Now, we head to Week 4 Fantasy Football matchups!

So with that said let me give you some start and sit options on offense and defense that will get you ready for Week 4 of the Fantasy Football Season!

Here are your 4-EYED Starts & Sits of the Week!

Quarterbacks

Start: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams against the Arizona Cardinals

Stafford heads into Week 4 tied as the overall QB7 in fantasy football. He has adjusted well to the Los Angeles Rams and he and wide receiver Cooper Kupp have an unreal pace going through three weeks. Stafford has completed 70.2% of his passes so far this season and is tied for second in passing touchdowns with nine.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Tom Brady against New England, Jalen Hurts against Kansas City and Ryan Tannehill against the New York Jets.

Sit: Taylor Heinicke, Washington Football Team against the Atlanta Falcons

Yes, Heinicke is going against the Falcons and yes, he is coming off of a QB9 performance in Week 3. As poor as the Falcons are, they haven’t been giving up dominant fantasy performances for quarterbacks recently. Last week, Daniel Jones was a dud as QB20. The Football Team needs to focus on getting their run game going, and I don’t think Heinicke finishes as a top-12 quarterback this week.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Sits:

Derek Carr against the Los Angeles Chargers, Matt Ryan against the Washington Football Team and Baker Mayfield against the Minnesota Vikings.

Running Backs

Start: James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars against the Cincinnati Bengals

Alright, don’t freak out but the Jags may have figured out that Robinson is still good. While he had been entirely unimpressive so far this season, Week 3 was a re-breaking out for Robinson. He finished as the RB3 in half-PPR scoring last week on 81 rushing yards with a touchdown and six receptions for 46 yards. The Bengals just gave up 14 receptions to rookie running back Najee Harris so look for the Jaguars to have to resort to a similar strategy.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Kareem Hunt against the Minnesota Vikings, Chuba Hubbard against the Dallas Cowboys and Trey Sermon against the Seattle Seahawks.

Sit: Mike Davis, Atlanta Falcons against the Washington Football Team

Alright listen, we were right about Mike Davis not being the long-term solution for the Falcons. Turns out, he isn’t a great short-term option either as he has gotten outrushed by versatile wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson in some games this year. Davis is already a risky play and now faces the stout front-seven of the Washington Football Team. Hard pass.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Sits:

Damien Harris against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jamaal Williams against the Chicago Bears and Kenyan Drake against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Wide Receivers

Start: Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers against the Las Vegas Raiders

Williams is playing for a contract and he looks to be the real deal. He was the WR1 in fantasy last week catching seven of nine targets for 122 yards and two touchdowns. He is the overall WR2 in fantasy right now and has 295 yards and four touchdowns through three games. Ride the hot streak.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Ja’Marr Chase against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Julio Jones against the New York Jets and Brandin Cooks against the Buffalo Bills.

Sit: Robert Woods, Los Angeles Rams against the Arizona Cardinals

I am just as shocked typing that as you are that you are having to read it. But, if we look at the start of the season for Woods, he just isn’t on the same page with quarterback Matthew Stafford. Woods ranks as the WR49 in half-PPR scoring right now while his teammate Cooper Kupp is the WR1. Until he shows that he can be the apple of Stafford’s eye, he should be downgraded.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Sits:

Corey Davis against the Tennessee Titans, Brandon Aiyuk against the Seattle Seahawks and Tim Patrick against the Baltimore Ravens.

Tight Ends

Start: Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins against the Indianapolis Colts

Guess who’s back, back, back, back again? Gesicki is back apparently. With the injury to Tagovailia, Jacoby Brissett has taken over as the signal-caller for the Dolphins and apparently he loves him some Mike Gesicki. Gesicki has 19.2 fantasy points on the season so far and 13.6 of them came from last week. 10 receptions on 12 targets is a ton of usage for a tight end and as long as Brissett is quarterback it looks like Gesicki is back to being startable.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Austin Hooper against the Minnesota Vikings, Tyler Higbee against the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Goedert against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sit: Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings against the Cleveland Browns

Yes, Conklin was the TE2 last week, I get it. You’re going to think that I am a hypocrite by saying you shouldn’t ride the momentum wave. Well, you shouldn’t. The Vikings were missing star running back Dalvin Cook last week so it made sense that they needed to have someone else step up and that was Conklin. When Cook is back, Conklin will go back to not being involved in the offense other than getting a redzone look or two.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Sits:

Dawson Knox against the Houston Texans, Jonnu Smith against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dalton Schultz against the Carolina Panthers.

With IDP options being so plentiful in fantasy football, each week we’re going to list for you an option at each position with honorable mentions to help set your lineups with confidence.

Defensive Linemen

Start: Javon Hargrave, Philadelphia Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs

Hargrave is coming off of a 30 point fantasy performance against the Dallas Cowboys. He is going to clog up the middle lanes and stop any sort of central rushing attack that the Chiefs try to go with. We have also seen that the Chiefs line will give up sacks and I think Hargrave introduces himself to Mahomes early and often.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Haasan Reddick against the Dallas Cowboys, Matt Judon against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cam Heyward against the Green Bay Packers.

Linebackers

Start: Eric Kendricks, Minnesota Vikings against the Cleveland Browns

Kendricks has put up three straight 20+ fantasy point performances. This week he draws the Browns who are known for using their running backs in both the passing and receiving game. Kendricks is going to be in the middle of the field licking his chops waiting to lay a big hit on whoever gets to him.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Logan Wilson against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kenny Young against the Arizona Cardinals and Denzel Perryman against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Defensive Backs

Start: Trevon Diggs, Dallas Cowboys against the Carolina Panthers

While being the father to the star of Hard Knocks this season, Diggs has had an incredible start to the 2021 campaign. He seems to be everywhere on the field and he is the only player in the league to have an interception in all three games so far. I’m not saying he is going to pick off Sam Darnold, but I think he is going to benefit from the short and quick passes the Panthers are going to have to rely on with star running back Christian McCaffrey out.

Additional Week 4 Fantasy Football Starts:

Mike Edwards against the New England Patriots, Logan Ryan against the New Orleans Saints and Andrew Wingard against the Cincinnati Bengals.
