We are two weeks into the college football season, and things are getting interesting. Some players looked great at the start of the season, while others took a week to get going. Let’s look at some players that might be available in your CFF leagues on Fantrax going into Week 5 and how you can use them in your lineups. Here are my College Fantasy Football Week 5 Waiver Adds!

QUARTERBACKS

Blake Horvath, Navy – Rostered in 9% of Fantrax Leagues.

  • Quarterback Blake Horvath is coming off an HELL of a performance this past weekend over The University of Memphis where he went off for 192 yards passing and two touchdowns and a whopping 211 yards rushing and four touchdowns for a total of 62.08 fantasy points.
  • Horvath, the QB2 in all of College Football in fantasy points per game, is PFF’s NUMBER 1 rated Quarterback in all of the NCAA in Week 4.
  • This week he continues conference play versus The University of Alabama-Birmingham, who currently sits at 10th place in the AAC with a 1-3 record on the season. Make sure to roster Horvath this week and get top tier production from this midshipman this week.

Alonza Barnett, James Madison – Rostered in 6% of Fantrax Leagues

  • Alonza Barnett III, PFFs 10th best rated QB in all of College Football in Week 4, TOOK IT to UNC this past week for a total of 388 yards passing and five touchdowns, tallying 57.42 fantasy points.
  • This week, The “Dukes” QB will take on Ball State which ranks, in terms of difficulty, 128th against quarterbacks. Look for him to keep this hot streak going in Week 5.

Cade Klubnik, Clemson – Rostered in 44% of Fantrax Leagues*

  • The 17th ranked Clemson Tigers and their Quartberback Cade Klubnik had himself a very solid fantasy performance against North Carolina State going for 209 passing yards and three TDs followed by 70 yards rushing and one TD for 33.36 fantasy points (QB20 in PPG)
  • This week they welcome Stanford Cardinals to town whose secondary got lit up by Syracuse for 339 passing yards and two touchdowns.

RUNNING BACKS

Nate Noel, Missouri – Rostered in 38% of Fantrax Leagues

  • The number one team in the SEC, The Missouri Tigers, have a bye week this week which makes this the PERFECT time to go to your waiver wire and pick up Nate Noel.
  • Per PFF, Noel is rated as the RB1 in yards after contact, RB9 in yards after contact per attempt, and 5th in missed tackles forced with the 4th highest breakaway run rate in the SEC.
  • As the season has gone on we’ve seen his attempts go up along with his rushing yards and most importantly fantasy point production. Grab him off of waivers NOW!

Treshaun Ward, Boston College – Rostered in 38% of Fantrax Leagues

  • I told you last week to get a head of the curve and roster Treshaun Ward. Hopefully, you listened as he had his highest rushing attempt total of the season tallying 102 rushing yards, one touchdown, and 17.3 fantasy points.
  • This week, BC takes on Western Kentucky this week on Chestnut Hill who allowed Toledo 125 rushing yards. As 13 points favorites and an over/under of 55 points, lookg for Ward to provide valueable FLEX value this week.

Micah Bernard, Utah – Rostered in 29% of Fantrax Leagues

  • Number 10 in the country, Utah, takes on Arizona this week and senior Micah Bernard looks to carry his hot streak of three straight 100+ yard rushing games intact. This past week versus Oklahoma State, he went for 25 rushing attempts for 182 yards with a 7.3 yard per carry average.
  • On the season, Bernard is the RB28 in the nation with a 4.85 yards after contact per attempt, Bernard has all the metrics you want as a FLEX option at running back with the potential RB2 upside, especially facing a team allowing on average 180.3 rushing yards per game.

WIDE RECEIVERS

KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Auburn – Rostered in 28% of Fantrax Leagues

  • KeAndre Lambert-Smith is coming off a 10 target game for 156 yards, two TDs, and 27.6 fantasy points versus Arkansas.
  • PFF’s 7th best rated receiver on the season thus far ranks as the number two receiver in the land in yards after the catch per reception, 10th in aDOT, and 3rd in yards per routes run. In other words, efficiency metrics to the MOON!
  • This week Oklahoma comes to town which is ranked 71st against wide receivers in fantasy.

DT Sheffield, North Texas – Rostered in 36% of Fantrax Leagues

  • The “Mean Green” of North Texas heading to Tulsa (2-2), which ranks 127th against wide receivers in fantasy. Sheffield is coming off an impressive peformance posing 109 receiving yards, one TD, and 16.9 fantasy points
  • Ranked 3rd in yards after the catch per reception, according to PFF, look for DT to feast again this weekend

Kenny Odom, UTEP – Rostered in 1% of Fantrax Leagues

  • UTEP heads to Sam Houston State NEXT WEEK, which means NOW is the time to go roster Kenny Odom.
  • Odom is coming off of back to back double digit fantasy performances, he will look to take on a tough in coverage secondary.
  • 4th in yards per routes run and first in yards after the catch per reception, Odum should be heavily targeted on the short to intermediate throws, picking apart this secondary or at the very least adding to the reception column which is great in PPR formatted leages.

TIGHT ENDS

Tanner Koziol, Ball State – Rostered in 34% of Fantrax Leagues

  • The number two rated tight end in the MAC, Koziol has been the first down gaining machine for Ball State, having 12 so far on the season.
  • Ranked the TE4 in fantasy points per game with an average of 11.03 points, Koziol and Ball State take on JMU who has been very friendly to opposing tight ends in fantasy. Coming off of an 11 target, 112 yard effort versis Central Michigan look for Koziol to have similar success this week.

Bryson Nesbit, North Carolina – Rostered in 50% of Fantrax Leagues

  • The TE16 in PPG out of The University of North Carolina, Nesbit finds himself taking on tobacco road rival Duke this weekend in this ACC matchup.
  • Nesbit’s target numbers have been climbing steadily this season and versus 12th ranked secondary in the ACC, Nesbit will make a solid TE streaming option for you this week.

Max Klare, Purdue – Rostered in 30% of Fantrax Leagues

  • 5th in yards per routes run, Klare is one of the most efficient route runners in the Big 10 this season.
  • Playing 66% of his routes in slot makes him an solid receiving option at the position this week versus Nebraska considering he leads all tight ends and wide receivers on the team in targets and receptions on the season!
