In this second part of our Bengals’ 4-EYED TEAM PREVIEW, we’re going to be covering the Bengals’ IDPs that you should consider rostering for the 2021 fantasy football season.

There is a lot of YOUTH on the Bengals this season, on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of solid IDP options to choose from on this team. I’d love to recommend Sam Hubbard, for example, but he doesn’t exactly do anything on the football field to make you go, “Oooh….I want him on my fantasy roster”. The linebacker position is atrocious here. Honestly speaking there are only THREE IDP options I would recommend you having on your fantasy rosters going into the season from this team.

Trey Hendrickson (Current ADP: DL20)

Trey Hendrickson cashed in on his league-leading 13.5 sack performance in 2020 and signed with the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason. Jessie Bates (Current ADP: DB7)

Over the past three seasons, Jessie Bates has established himself as one of the best safeties in the NFL. Since 2018, Bates ranks 3rd in total tackles (320) and 3rd in solo tackles (222), according to StatHead.com. In 2020, Bates was 6th overall amongst defensive backs with passes defensed according to FantasyData.com. He is clearly a defensive back who has many facets to his game which is great for real football AND fantasy football fans.

Speaking of fantasy football, in IDP123 scoring, Bates was the DB8 in fantasy points per game with 15.9 in 2020. From being rated as one of the best safeties against the run to one of the best safeties against the pass, Bates is a swiss army knife of a player that can bring value to your defensive back position in a multitude of ways. Draft him as your DB1 with pride.

Von Bell (Current ADP: DB15)

While fellow safety Jessie Bates might be getting more of the spotlight on this defensive back corps, Von Bell is RIGHT BEHIND HIM in terms of player performance and fantasy production. In 2020, Bell rated as the 9th best safety against the run according to Pro Football Focus. Bell even had more combined tackles and QB hits than Bates did last year and with an average of 13.8 fantasy points per game, he is a sure-fire DB2 with DB1 upside in your fantasy football leagues this season.
