#1 Darnell Mooney

2023 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 15
  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 61/31/414
  • Touchdowns: 1
  • Non-PPR: 47.9
  • Half-PPR: 63.4
  • Full-PPR: 78.9

2024 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 2
  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 10/4/103
  • Touchdowns: 1
  • Non-PPR: 16.3
  • Half-PPR: 18.3
  • Full-PPR: 20.3

Week 3 Opponent

  • Kansas City Chiefs

My number one flex play for week 3 is Darnell Mooney. He has been Kirk Cousins’s number-two option for the past two weeks. Through two weeks, Mooney has only four fewer snaps than Drake London, and they are tied in targets with ten apiece. This week, the Falcons are seeing the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are 31st against the pass, giving up 256.5 yards a game in the air, and with focus on London, it should leave Mooney with soft coverage. Mooney is a great flex option this week and could be an every-week flex starter for your lineups if he continues to get the opportunities he has been getting.

#2 Diontae Johnson

2023 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 13
  • Targets/ Receptions/ Yards: 87/51/717
  • Touchdowns: 5
  • Non-PPR: 101.7
  • Half-PPR: 127.2
  • Full-PPR: 152.7

2024 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 2
  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 12/5/34
  • Touchdowns: 0
  • Non-PPR: 3.4
  • Half-PPR: 5.9
  • Full-PPR: 8.4

Week 3 Opponent

  • Las Vegas Raiders

My number two flex option for the week is Diontae Johnson. The Carolina Panthers offense has looked like booboo at the bottom of my shoe, but they have changed the quarterback to Andy Dalton, a capable and proven NFL veteran. Johnson has been a top separator since coming into the NFL, so I didn’t understand how Bryce Young couldn’t connect with him. Dalton will give this offense a huge uptick and will make Johnson a legit flex option this week against the Las Vegas Raiders, who rank 16th in pass defense.

#3 Jauan Jennings

2023 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 13
  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 33/19/265
  • Touchdowns: 1
  • Non-PPR: 32
  • Half-PPR: 42
  • Full-PPR: 51.5

2024 Season Stats

  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 9/7/101
  • Touchdowns: 0
  • Non-PPR: 10.1
  • Half-PPR: 13.6
  • Full-PPR: 17.1

Week 3 Opponent

  • Las Angeles Rams

My number three flex play for this week is Jauan Jennings. With Deebo Samuels trending to not being available for this week’s matchup against the Las Angeles Rams, Jennings will step right in as the number wide receiver for the Niners behind Brandon Ayuik. This flex play is all about Jennings’s opportunity. With Samuels in the game, Jennings 51.1% of the snaps operating as the clear-cut number 3 receiver. He will most likely see an uptick in snaps and targets this week against a defense that is ranked 24th against the pass and has given up 229 yards per game in the air so far this season. This is a deep flex play normally, but with all the injuries happening around the same time right now, he could be a strong flex option. However, do not go into the week with that mindset if you have to plug him into your flex.

#4 Demarcus Robinson

2023 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 16
  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 39/26/371
  • Touchdowns: 4
  • Non-PPR: 61.4
  • Half-PPR: 74.4
  • Full-PPR: 87.4

2024 Season Stats

  • Games Played: 2
  • Targets/Receptions/Yards: 11/6/92
  • Touchdowns: 0
  • Non-PPR: 9.2
  • Half-PPR: 12.2
  • Full-PPR: 15.2

Week 3 Opponent

  • San Francisco 49ers

On the other side of the field for this weekend is my number four flex play, Demarcus Robinson. He could also be a potential flex option for a while beyond this week. The LA Rams have been cursed with injuries this season. Among those injured were both Rams star receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. Despite the two stars on the field, Robinson played the number three receiver in an 11-personnel offense. He looks to be thrust into the number-one receiver role due to the injuries. Robinson has already been on the field for 120 snaps (93% snap share). The Niners are currently ranked 22nd against the pass, giving up 227.5 yards per game. The facts are that Matthew Stafford is extremely low on weapons, and Robinson is the next man up. He will see a healthy target share even though Stafford will have to spread the ball a little more. Robinson should be considered when choosing your flex options this week.

Again, my name is Preston Evans, “The Fantasy Football Homeboy.” Thank you for checking out my Flex Play article for Week 3, and good luck in your Fantasy Football Leagues this week.
