College Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Adds!
Three weeks of College Fantasy Football coverage here at Fantasy In Frames and I can honestly say I can’t believe we’ve never covered it before. So many conferences, so many matchups, and so many players can make or break your weekly matchups. It’s almost a blessing and a curse to have so many player/roster construction options as “paralysis by analysis” can often get in the way of making roster decisions.
The beauty of it all, however, is that since each division with in a conferences presents new matchups within themselves, you don’t have to roster the best players in all of the NCAA. You just need to roster the right ones that have a track record of performances against their in conference rivals, and yes there are plenty on the waiver wire to choose from
Here are my College Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Adds!
QUARTERBACKS
Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh – Rostered in 32% of Fantrax Leagues.
- Coming off a back and forth victory versus West Virginia University this past weekend that saw Eli Holstein post his third consecutive game of 300 yards passing and three touchdowns, Holstein finds himself in an advantagous matchup versus Youngstown State which over the past three weeks boasts the worst record in the Missouri Valley Conference.
- Currently the QB13 in fantasy points per game with an average of 27.72, Holstein should have a field day versus the Penguins defense that has allowed the past three QBs faced an average of 414 passing yards per game.
- Given the fact that most defensive lineup grade in the 60’s and below, according to PFF, this looks like a stat-padding game for him.
Behren Morton, Texas Tech – Rostered in 47% of Fantrax Leagues
- Morton has had a deceptively quiet start to his season, leading in the Big 12 in passing TDs and only two interceptions on the season.
- 9th in all of college fantasy football at the QB position averaing 28.35 PPG, Morton his Red Raiders take on Arizona State this week for in conference matchup.
- Ranked near the bottom of the conference in passing rushing, according to PFF, Morton should make it back-to-back games with over 30 fantasy points against this Sun Devil’s defense.
Billy Edwards, Maryland – Rostered in 9% of Fantrax Leagues
- My guy, my namesake, my fellow Terrapin! Billy Edwards did it again this past weekend versus The University of Viginia posting 263 yards passing two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown for a total of 25.72 fantasy points
- As we’ve been saying so far this season, Edwards has a difficult stretch of games towards the latter half of the season, but PFF’s number two rated Quarterback in the Big 10 who is ranked 5th in aDOT and 2nd in Big Time Throw percentage, is proving to be one of the top consistent options in college fantasy football so far this season.
- Pick him up and start him versus Villanova this week.
RUNNING BACKS
Treshaun Ward, Boston College – Rostered in 37% of Fantrax Leagues
- Treshaun Ward is coming off a disappointing performance versus Missouri this weekend. He’ll look to bounce back this week in The Red Bandana Game versus Michigan State.
- Averaging 77 total yards and 0.6 TDs a game, Ward should provide plenty of low end RB2/RB3 value due to his dual threat capabilities. His 2.87 yards per routes run leads the ACC and that type of efficency plus opportunity makes him some you should prioritize this week against a lesser defensive opponent in Boston.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Pat Bryant, Illinois – Rostered in 19% of Fantrax Leagues
- Coming off an 7 for 102 and two TD performance against Central Michigan this past weekend, Pat Bryant is rated as PFF’s 6th best wide receiver in the Big 10.
- 6th in the conference in aDOT and 8th in yards per routes run, Pat Bryant is one of if not the focal point of this offense for Illinois. Trust me when I say it is SHOCKING that he is only rostered in 19% of leagues. If he’s available pick him up ASAP.
Cade McDonald, Miami (OH) – Rostered in 5% of Fantrax Leagues
- McDonald is PFF’s second rated wide receiver in the MAC and number one rated slot wide receiver and it’s no wonder why. 1st in yards per routes run, 1st in QB rating when targeted, and second in first downs gained, he is clearly a trusted and reliable target in this passing game for the RedHawks.
- Ranking in the Top 25 in FPPG with an average of 1 points5, he is definitely someone you’ll want to FLEX especially when one of your starters has a difficult matchup this week.
TIGHT ENDS
Joe Royer, Cincinnati – Rostered in 35% of Fantrax Leagues
- As one of the most targeted tight ends in the Big 12, Royer has a matchup versus the University of Houston who boast the WORST pass rushing unit in ALL of the NCAA which boads well for his potential target percentage
- The 8th highest scoring TE in college fantasy football in PPG averaging 9.5 PPG, the fact he is rostered in only 35% of leagues is absurd. Pick him up now and solidify your roster at the position. Stream him this week in a choice matchup!
