IDP Fantasy Football Starts & Sits for Week 12 (2023)

2023 IDP Starts and Sits Week 12 | Fantasy In Frames

Welcome to our twelfth IDP Start & Sit article at Fantasy In Frames for the 2023 fantasy football season!

Hey everyone, it’s Jorge Edwards! You can check out my previous work by clicking here. Whether you’re newer to IDP or have been playing for years, my goal of these starts and sits is to provide you with stud picks I’m a huge fan of each week, from your top-tier players to play in your shallow leagues down to deeper league options. However, with the good picks come the ones I am less high on that you should consider alternatives for each week.

Here are my IDP Fantasy Football Starts & Sits for Week 12 (2023).

***Advanced metrics courtesy of PFF.com, Player Profiler, and FantasyPros***

Starts

Carl Granderson @ Falcons

  • In what should be a slugfest in Atlanta along the line of scrimmage for The Falcons vs. The Saints, look for Carl Granderson to take advantage of his above-average win rate % versus offensive linemen over the past month and sneak a sack past this offensive line that has allowed 25 pressures and six sacks since Week 11.

Shaquil Barrett vs. Colts

  • Look for Shaq Barrett to be the definition of stability in this Bucs’ defense against the Colts on Sunday as he looks to have his way with Blake Freeland at right tackle for the Colts, who has allowed ten pressures since Week 8.

Harold Landry vs. Panthers

  • Look for the consistency in pass rush win rate and pressure rate to continue AND pay off for Landry in Week 12’s matchup versus The Carolina Panthers.
  • Taylor Moton, who Landry should lineup against on Sunday, has allowed 14 pressures since Week 8 and should have his hands full with Landry this week.

Sit

Gregory Rousseau & Leonard Floyd vs. Eagles

  • Coming off of their bye week in Week 11, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson showed why they are two of the best tandem offensive tackles in the game, only allowing two pressures and a sack on Monday Night Football.
  • I’m not saying Rousseau and Floyd WON’T be able to get lucky and fall their way into a sack on Sunday. What I am saying is that there will be better options to choose from this week.

Start

Demario Davis @ Falcons / Kaden Ellis vs. Saints

  • Don’t overthink this one, folks. Both of these linebackers will be must-start players in a defensive struggle of a matchup in The Mercedez Benz Dome in Atlanta on Sunday.

Zach Cunningham vs. Buffalo

  • As I’ve been mentioning for weeks, all signs have been pointing to Zach Cunningham being the linebacker to roster in this Eagles linebacking group.
  • Buffalo is allowing the 9th most tackles to the linebacking position on the season, and given the fact that Cunningham is seeing the most snaps out of any linebacker this season, volume should be on his side this week.

Sit

J.O.K. @ Broncos

  • It’s hard for me to trust any Browns linebacker for IDP just because finding consistent production from week to week is always an issue. Don’t risk it with Koramoah this week.

Divine Deablo vs. Chiefs

  • I said to sit him last week, and I’m saying it again this week. Despite him having a VERY high tackle efficiency in Week 11, “The Devil” only played in 58.6% of snaps.
  • Trust volume and matchups, especially with limited options for the remaining slate of games on Sunday and Monday.

Start

Jordan Battle vs. Steelers

  • With Battle seemingly locked into a full-time role at box safety going forward for the remainder of the season, given the remaining defensive back options on Sunday and Monday, look for Battle to be a must-start for you this week.

Tre’Von Moehrig vs. Chiefs

  • Moehrig has been the DB18 in total points scored since Week 8 with an 11 PPG average. Against the Chiefs, look for Moehrig to assist in run support as well as pass-rush support, upping his fantasy floor this week.

Trent McDuffie @ Raiders

  • McDuffie has had an impressive 16 to 4 solo-to-assist ratio since Week 8, averaging 16.5 PPG using FantasyPros IDP scoring.
  • His high box snap % as a Cornerback combined with his Slot snap % means he, more often than not, finds himself around the ball whether playing the run or playing in coverage. Trust his play-making ability this week.

Sit

Jabrill Peppers @ Giants

  • Box snap domination has gone the way of the dinosaurs with Peppers. Even against an enticing matchup versus The Giants, you’re merely chasing upside with him this week.

Jordan Fuller @ Cardinals

  • With Ernest Jones back at linebacker, as anticipated last week, Fuller returned to playing a majority of snaps at deep safety. He’s not startable.
