Here is Chris’ breakdown of 2023 Rookie Prospect: Dynasty Josh Downs!
Player Overview
Josh Downs has all the tools to be a solid producer on any NFL team. Hardworking, intelligent, and quick, Downs is going to have multiple suitors come draft day. Back-to-back 1000-yard seasons show that he can produce against top competition.
Quick but not fast, Downs understands that due to his lack of size, he needs to use the tools to complement his game as a wide receiver in the NFL. A go-to piece of the Tar Heel offense which is evident by his high target percentage and team target share through his three seasons.
Fantasy Summary
Josh Downs gets the position. Where he lacks in size and top-end speed, he makes up with his on-field intelligence and ability to create and find space. He may be limited to a slot receiver at the next level, but he has shown that he can beat defenders off the line on the outside. Seeing that he can produce at a high level against top-rated opposition has me excited for the next step.
I have him as WR5 for the class, and I’m taking him before Jalin Hyatt, Zay Flowers, and possibly Zach Charbonnet.
