Waiver Wire Adds for Week 9

Waiver WIre Adds Week 9 2022 Fantasy IN Frames

We are already eight weeks through the NFL season, yet there is still value on the waiver wire. Here is your guide for who are the MAJOR Waiver Wire Adds in Week 9. For a more comprehensive list, check out my waiver wire rankings here.

QBs

  • Justin Fields (Chicago Bears) – Consensus Rostership: 33.6%, Week 9 Matchup: Miami Dolphins
    • I still believe Fields is a top 5 running QB in the league. He has at least 7 rushing attempts in every game this season, that’s better than most teams’ RB1. Going up against a forgiving Miami defense in week 9 should result in solid fantasy production for Fields

  • Taylor Heinicke (Washington Commanders) – Consensus Rostership: 8.1%, Week 9 Matchup: Minnesota Vikings
    • Two wins in two starts, Heinicke is adding to an already exciting NFC East division. His receiving core of Terry McClaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel is one of the more underrated trios in the league. Heinicke has some considerable upside for the remainder of the season.

  • Marcus Mariota (Atlanta Falcons) – Consensus Rostership: 25%, Week 9 Matchup: Los Angeles Chargers
    • Mariota’s next 5 games are against the Chargers, Panthers, Bears, Commanders, and Steelers, all who allow at least 14.6 fantasy points to QBs. He’s not a very attractive pickup but is better than most.

RBs

  • Tyler Allgeier (Atlanta Falcons) – Consensus Rostership: 54.4%, Week 9 Matchup: Los Angeles Chargers
    • Those same 5 games for Allgeier may be a lot better for him than his QB. The Falcons next 5 opponents allow at least 18 fantasy points to RBs each. Already leading RBs on the team in snaps and attempts, the rookie out of BYU will look to have a solid stretch of games before the bye week.

  • Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs) – Consensus Rostership 29.4%, Week 9 Matchup: Tennessee Titans
    • This will most likely be your last chance to grab Pacheco off waivers after the Chiefs bye week. Pacheco is a freak athlete, scoring in the 99th percentile in 40-yard dash and 98th percentile in speed score on PlayerProfiler. He will have a role in this backfield.

  • Rachaad White (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Consensus Rostership 25.5%, Week 9 Matchup: Los Angeles Rams
    • White should be rostered in most leagues, especially if you have Leonard Fournette. Should Lenny miss any time at all, Rachaad White’s pass catching can make him a very viable flex option.

WRs

  • Darnell Mooney (Chicago Bears) – Consensus Rostership: 61.8%, Week 9 Matchup: Miami Dolphins
    • Mooney has the 9th highest target share among all position groups in the NFL. This workload needs to be rostered in all leagues. End of discussion.

  • Garrett Wilson (New York Jets) – Consensus Rostership: 60%, Week 9 Matchup: Buffalo Bills
    • Wilson looked like the best player for the Jets on Sunday. Elijah Moore’s chemistry with Zach Wilson is almost no existent. And while New York did trade for James Robinson, he and Michael Carter were barely used. Being an Ohio State WR, Wilson should be rostered more.

  • Kadarius Toney (Kansas City Chiefs) – Consensus Rostership: 55.6%, Week 9 Matchup: Tennessee Titans
    • As a Giants fan, I can tell you first hand how good Kadarius Toney is. With the two rushing attempts and 2 receptions he has this season, he looked like the best playmaker on the field besides Saquon Barkley. Now having Patrick Mahomes has his QB, expect peak Toney performance.

TEs

  • Greg Dulcich (Denver Broncos) – Consensus Rostership: 38%, Week 9 Matchup: BYE
    • Dulcich has been one of the brighter spots in this dull Denver offense. He currently has the 11th highest target share among all TEs over the past 3 games. Look for Dulcich to have more of a role in this offense going forward.

  • Evan Engram (Jacksonville Jaguars) – Consensus Rostership: 37.6%, Week 9 Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders
    • Speaking of target share, Engram has the 9th highest among all TEs over the past 3 games. On a team who’s QB has the 10th most passing yards in the league, Engram has the chance to be a top 10 player at the position.

  • Tyler Conklin (New York Jets) – Consensus Rostership: 14.1%, Week 9 Matchup: Buffalo Bills
    • The Jets are looking to reconfigure their offense after the loss of Breece Hall (torn ACL) and Elijah Moore looking to be dealt. One of the beneficiaries of this is Garrett Wilson, another is Tyler Conklin. Conklin has had at least 5 targets in every game this season except for weeks 5 and 6.

DSTs

  • Jacksonville Jaguars – Consensus Rostership: 22.8%, Week 9 Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders
    • This Raiders offense is just in shambles right now. Any defense can make them look bad right now.

  • Kansas City Chiefs – Consensus Rostership: 15.9%, Week 9 Matchup: Tennessee Titans
    • Malik Willis looked bad in his first start against Houston. Whether it’s him or Tannehill under center, the Chiefs should be able to take advantage of the Titans one-dimensional offense.

  • Minnesota Vikings – Consensus Rostership: 12.7%, Week 9 Matchup: Washington Commanders
    • The Vikings were able to get multiple big stops against the Cardinals offense on Sunday, expect them to do the same against this less dynamic Washington offense.
