Favorable Wide Receiver Matchups for Week 12 (2021)

Each week Fantasy In Frames is highlighting key wide receiver matchups to take advantage of. Here are four favorable wide receiver matchups for Week 12

Thanksgiving week is upon us, and although we don’t celebrate the holiday as a country in the UK, there will be NFL fans this side of the Atlantic excited to tuck into plenty of midweek Football! So, whilst you focus on prepping the turkey and spending time with family, let us help take a job off your plate and advise you on who you should be starting on your fantasy teams in Week 12!

Darnell Mooney – Chicago Bears

The second-year pass-catcher took over WR1 duties from the ailed Allen Robinson in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens and snatched the opportunity with both hands as he caught 5 passes for 121 yards and a score. The former Tulane speedster has been limited in practice since Sunday, but if he can overcome his foot ailment, he’ll have a great opportunity to put up another big day against a Detroit Lions secondary which currently grades dead last in Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers, according to PFF.

Brandin Cooks – Houston Texans

Veteran WR Brandin Cooks has been one of the lone bright spots in an otherwise poor season. The former Saints, Patriots & Rams player had his lowest output game in Sunday’s upset win over the Titans with only 18 yards on two receptions and only his second game of the season with less than five receptions. I expect Cooks to bounce back this week against a New York Jets secondary that grades inside the bottom-3 in the NFL for Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers, according to PFF.

Jarvis Landry – Cleveland Browns

Back-to-back appearances on this list for the former LSU pass-catcher as his Cleveland Browns side are likely to rely on the veteran pass-catcher more and more heading into the business end of the season. With OBJ no longer on the roster and with Donovan Peoples-Jones missing Sunday’s win over the Lions, Landry will resume WR1 responsibilities, this time against a Baltimore Ravens side which surprisingly grades inside the bottom-10 for Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers, according to PFF.

Tyler Lockett – Seattle Seahawks

The 3-7 Seahawks have had a disappointing season, and so has WR Tyler Lockett. The long-time Seahawk hasn’t found the endzone since Week 2, but with best-mate Russell Wilson now back in at QB after finger surgery, is Lockett once again becoming a viable FF starter just in time for our teams to make a playoff push? With 115 yards on only four receptions last week and now up against a Washington Football Team secondary that grades inside the bottom-5 for Defensive Coverage Vs Receivers, according to PFF, I like Lockett to once again surpass 100 receiving yards this week.
