We have made it through BYEmageddon 2: Electric Boogaloo. It is also the last week of bye weeks! Check to see how league’s playoff settings because one of my leagues has playoffs NEXT WEEK. In Week 13, I was wrong about the DeVonta Smith squeaky wheel game, but nailed fading all of the Patriots pass catchers. Now, we head to Week 14 Fantasy Football matchups!

On bye: Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Here are your 4-EYED Starts & Sits of the Week!

Quarterbacks

Start: Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints against the New York Jets

Hill should be in line to get another start for the Saints even though his first was underwhelming. Hill has a get-right matchup this week against the Jets who are admittedly giving up middle-of-the-road numbers to quarterbacks. BUT, Hill still has major upside with his rushing ability. Hill works great as a streamer for Tua Tagovailoa, Carson Wentz, Mac Jones, or Jalen Hurts on bye this week.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

Cam Newton against the Atlanta Falcons, Russell Wilson against the Houston Texans, and Taylor Heinicke against the Dallas Cowboys.

Sit: Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Tannehill is one of my misses this season as he continues to underperform. With his top two receiving out most of the year and Derrick Henry sidelined with injury, the Titans’ offense is in shambles. As a result, Tannehill has finished as a QB1 only four times this year. The last time he played the Jags? QB22 in Week 5 of this season.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Sits:

Tom Brady against the Buffalo Bills, Jimmy Garoppolo against the Cincinnati Bengals, and Ben Roethlisberger against the Minnesota Vikings.

Running Backs

Start: Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers against the Minnesota Vikings Thursday Night Football

You were undoubtedly starting Harris anyway, but I think he is in for a large workload this week. The Steelers are on a short week and played a slugfest of a game against the Ravens in Week 13. I don’t know if you have heard this, but Big Ben is old and the last thing he needs after their last game is a short week. Look for the Steelers to heavily lean on Harris this week.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

Josh Jacobs against the Kansas City Chiefs, Devonta Freeman against the Cleveland Browns, and Chuba Hubbard against the Atlanta Falcons.

Sit: Tevin Coleman, New York Jets against the New Orleans Saints

When we get into the make-or-break games at the end of the year, every lineup decision is important. Coleman or teammate Ty Johnson could be flex candidates with other players on bye or injured. I’d leave them on the bench. The Saints are giving up the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs so there has to be a better option for you out there.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Sits:

Devin Singletary against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sony Michel against the Arizona Cardinals, and Rex Burkhead against the Seattle Seahawks.

Wide Receivers

Start: Elijah Moore, New York Jets against the New Orleans Saints

While the Saints are giving up the fewest points to running backs they are giving up the fourth MOST to opposing wide receivers on a per-game basis. Moore has finished as a top-10 wide receiver in three of the last five weeks and has been on the same page as quarterback Zach Wilson.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

DJ Moore against the Atlanta Falcons, Hunter Renfrow against the Kansas City Chiefs, and Jalen Guyton against the New York Giants if Keenan Allen remains on the Covid-19 list.

Sit: Marvin Jones Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars against the Tennessee Titans

The Titans are giving up the most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers so I almost put Jones in the start portion of this section. But, Jones has been a huge disappointment on a disappointing offense. He started the season off with two top-20 finishes but has only had two top-40 finishes in the 10 games since. When these teams met earlier this year he finished as the WR86 with three fantasy points which was his worst finish of the year so far.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Sits:

Courtland Sutton against the Detroit Lions, Brandin Cooks against the Seattle Seahawks, and Russell Gage against the Carolina Panthers.

Tight Ends

Start: Evan Engram, New York Giants against the Los Angeles Chargers

Engram is a bold choice here, but let’s risk it for the playoff biscuit. Engram is coming off a game where he caught four of his five targets for 61 yards. He has been a TE1 in three of his last five games. The Chargers are giving up the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

Ricky Seals-Jones against the Dallas Cowboys, Zach Ertz against the Los Angeles Rams, and Tyler Conklin against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sit: Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns against the Baltimore Ravens

Even though the Ravens are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, Hooper couldn’t get anything going against them in Week 12. Yes, the Browns are coming off a bye week. The last time they played he had 0 fantasy points. There has to be a safer option.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Sits:

Noah Fant against the Detroit Lions, Jared Cook against the New York Giants, and Tyler Higbee against the Arizona Cardinals.

With IDP options being so plentiful in fantasy football, each week weโ€™re going to list for you an option at each position with honorable mentions to help set your lineups with confidence.

Defensive Linemen

Start: Cam Heyward, Pittsburgh Steelers against the Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings are down Dalvin Cook and wide receiver Adam Thielen has a sprained ankle that could keep him out of the game on a short week. The Vikings are going to HAVE to establish the run with Alexander Mattison and Heyward should feast in the middle of the defensive line. He has been a DL1 in three of the last four weeks.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

Trey Hendrickson against the San Francisco 49ers, Jeffrey Simmons against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chris Jones against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Linebackers

Start: Devin White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Buffalo Bills

White has underperformed for the majority of the season, but I think he turns in a good performance this week against Josh Allen and the Bills. White is going to be used to slow down the run game of the Bills as well as trying to keep Josh Allen in the pocket. In coverage, he will likely take out the short route of Cole Beasley that the Bills like to utilize for important gains. While he has fewer than four tackles in two of his previous three games, I think White has a day this week.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

Micah Parsons against the Washington Football Team, Jordan Hicks against the Los Angeles Rams, and Denzel Perryman against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Defensive Backs

Start: Budda Baker, Arizona Cardinals against the Los Angeles Rams

The Rams offense resumed being its pass-happy self and Baker is going to have his hands full with the likes of Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. The last time these teams played each other in Week 4, Baker was the overall DB7 on the week.

Additional Week 14 Fantasy Football Starts:

Jordan Poyer against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kamren Curl against the Dallas Cowboys, and Xavier McKinney against the Los Angeles Chargers.
