2 weeks.

We have 2 weeks left before we get to the fantasy football playoffs! However, with COVID-19 wrecking your rosters, this is going to be a critical week to be nimble and look to your bench and last-minute free agent moves to survive Week 12.

That all being said, it’s hard to know when to pull the trigger on decisions like these. Here are your 4-EYED STARTS & SITS For Week 12!

Quarterback

Daniel Jones vs. Cincinnati Bengals: START

Coming off his best game in Week 10, Daniel Jones faces a Bengals team that has allowed 19.9 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Jones has been feast or famine this season, but gives you a solid floor by averaging 38.4 rushing yards per game. If you’re in a pinch with Lamar Jackson, you could do worse than grabbing Daniel Jones off the waiver wire.

Running Back

Nyheim Hines vs. Tennessee Titans: START

The Week 1 Waiver darling has been frustrating to roster. But this week, Nyheim Hines has a clear path to fantasy success. Jonathan Taylor was placed on COVID IR and Jordan Wilkins has seen his role shrink since his 20-rush attempts in Week 8, getting only 5 touches last week. Also, the Titans are a great match-up for RBs. They are giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs, including 70 rushing yards, 45 receiving yards, 2 TDs to Hines in Week 10.

Wide Receiver

Michael Pittman Jr. vs. Tennessee Titans: START

If you caught my Week 11 recap, you may have grabbed Michael Pittman off waivers. But can you trust to start him in Week 12? He has been on the field for 80% of snaps in each of the past 3 games. The Titans are middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points given up to wide receivers per game (25.5). Indianapolis will likely rely heavily on the run game against the Titans, but that opens up Pittman for a few deep shots down the field.

Tight End

Evan Engram vs. Cincinnati Bengals: START

Week 12 might as well be called the “Start your Giants and your Colts” Week. Coming off the bye, Evan Engram looks to bounce back from his two-catch performance against the Eagles. Helping Engram is Cincinnati’s defense, which has given up the fifth-most fantasy points per game against tight ends. With Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton healthy, Engram likely won’t see a huge target volume. That being said, tight end is a wasteland and Engram is always a threat to score a TD.

IDP CONTENT

As we do every week, when discussing IDP players we reference their fantasy point production using the FantasyPros IDP scoring rubric:

Linebackers

Joe Schobert vs. Clevland Browns: START

For the first time all season, Joe Schobert posted back-to-back double-digit tackle games. The Browns are the third-heaviest rushing attack in the NFL with 319 attempts on the season. Expect the Browns to continue to pound the rock in a low-scoring affair, giving Schobert plenty of opportunity for more tackles.

Defensive Backs

Ashtyn Davis vs. Miami Dolphins: START

Since becoming a starter in Week 8, Ashtyn Davis continues to put up impressive tackle numbers. Playing 81 snaps per game over the past two weeks, Davis has amassed 17 tackles in that time. Brian Fitzpatrick is likely to start against the Jets, and we know how much he loves to chuck the ball down the field. Davis should have plenty of opportunities for more tackles and maybe an interception against Miami.

Defensive Linemen/Edge Rushers

Olivier Vernon vs. Cincinnati Bengals: START

As my colleague Nate wrote this week, Olivier Vernon is set up for another big day filling in for Myles Garrett. This week, Vernon goes up against a Jaguars, who have allowed the sixth-most sacks to opposing defenses. And that was with Joe Burrow under center. Now, Vernon will be chasing down practice squad QB Brandon Allen.
