Set Up Your Lineups For Week 10

Hey #4EYEDfans,

4 weeks.

We have 4 weeks left before we get to the fantasy football playoffs! Not only that but for many of you, trade deadlines have arrived. All I can say is don’t settle for acquiring as well as trading away players of value, you gotta give in order to get, and don’t let the name on the back of a jersey dictate how you assign value to a player.

For more on this you can check out our 4-EYED PREGAME SHOW this Sunday on Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch at 11am EST.

Now……..

LET’S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS!

Here is a list of teams that are on a bye this week:

  • Falcons
  • Cowboys
  • Jets
  • Chiefs

Here are your 4-EYED STARTS & SITS For Week 10!

Quarterback

Jared Goff vs. Seattle Seahawks: START

The Seahawks are allowing on average 27.9 fantasy points per game, 372.5 passing yards, and 2 TDs to opposing quarterbacks on 45.8 passing attempts. Jared Goff coming off of a difficult defensive matchup versus the Dolphins in which he had 61 passing attempts, is in a prime position to take advantage of this ‘Hawks secondary with all of his talented receiving options healthy and ready to go this week in this divisional matchup. Fire him up as a streaming option this week!

Cam Newton vs. Baltimore Ravens: SITS

While coming off of a 24.6 fantasy point performance against the Jets on Monday Night Football, Cam Newton is in a prime position to disappoint fantasy managers this week facing a Ravens team allowing only 246 yards passing and 16.4 yards rushing by a quarterback on the season. Furthermore, their run defense ranks 8th best in the NFL which should severely lower Cam Newton’s fantasy floor. With the Ravens planning to scheme away the only real receiving threat the Patriots have, in Jakobi Myers, look for the Pats to be outclassed and outgunned in this matchup on offense.

Running Back

Kareem Hunt vs. Houston Texans: START

Linebacker for the Texans, Zach Cunningham, has allowed a team-leading 14 missed tackles (most in the NFL) this season and has been rated as the worst linebacker in tackling as well as in coverage in all of football. He, also, while in coverage has allowed a catch percentage of 93.3% when targeted. All of this spells fantasy success for Kareem Hunt, who is both a rushing and a receiving threat out of the backfield. With Tyrell Adams focused on Nick Chubb this Sunday look for Hunt to exploit this matchup this week and reward managers with a high double-digit fantasy point performance.

Josh Jacobs vs. Denver Broncos: SIT

Josey Jewell and Alexander Johnson are two of the best inside linebackers in terms of tackling efficiency in the NFL. Josh Jacobs, on the season, has had a majority of his rushing attempts go right up the middle, left of center, putting him in prime position for these Broncos linebackers to meet him close to the line of scrimmage. Depending on whether Jacobs is your RB2 or FLEX this week, if you are in a secure position for getting into the fantasy playoffs, I would fade Jacobs this week and reach for upside elsewhere. If you have no real running back depth then you’re obviously playing Jacobs, but please temper those expectations this week.

Wide Receiver

Robert Woods vs. Seattle Seahawks: START

Quinton Dumbar has allowed a passer rating of 101 when targeted on the season for the Seahawks, and he is slated to cover Robert Woods this week leading to one of the best WR/CB matchups of the week in this game. That all being said this is more of a matchup play this week than a MUST START. The fact is while Woods isn’t the most targeted WR on this Rams offense Dumbar leads the Seahawks in most yards after the catch allowed than any other cornerback on the team. Considering Woods makes his living on short-to-intermediate throws and then turning those receptions upfield for more yardage, it appears he is in the best position out of all other Rams receivers to exploit his matchup and reward you with the most fantasy points out of this receiving corps this week!

**UPDATE**

Quinton Dumbar has been declared out this week, even furthering the need/confidence to insert “Bobby Trees” into your lineup!

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Marquise Brown vs. New England Patriots: SIT

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown hasn’t been anything remotely close to a showstopper this season. Averaging just 8.6 fantasy points per game in 0.5PPR scoring, Brown is second on the team in target percentage just behind tight end Mark Andrews, and that trend doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon. Over the past three games played, Brown’s target has gone from 9.7 % to 2.6% to 11.8%. The fact of the matter is he is a rare boom and mostly bust player that is second fiddle in the receiving game for the Ravens. On top of that, he’ll be guarded by J.C. Jackson of the Patriots who has allowed a passer rating when targeted of only 76.6. It’s a HARD PASS for Brown this week!

Tight End

Mike Gesicki vs. Los Angeles Rams: BONUS START

To say that Mike Gesicki doesn’t do much with the ball after receiving it is an understatement. He ranks as the TE23 in yards after the catch and as TE30 in yards after the catch per reception. So what makes Gesicki such a valuable play this week? Kyzir White. White has the most missed tackles on the team this season, is allowing a passer rating when in coverage of 119.4, and has allowed the most yards after the catch than any linebacker on the team. If Gesicki ever had an opportunity to REALLY go off in a game this season this would be the matchup to start him in.

Jimmy Graham vs. Minnesota Vikings: START

Eric Kendricks has been the most targeted linebacker on the Vikings this season and will look to assume primary coverage duties on Bears tight end, Jimmy Graham, on Sunday. When targeted in coverage Kendricks has allowed a passer rating of 80.4, 9.2 yards after the catch per reception this season, and a 74.3% catch rate. With this secondary for the Vikings not being as it used to be in years past chances are Graham will have a good opportunity to capitalize on his 13% target percentage on the season as well as his 13 red zone targets in order to help make him a top tight end option this week.

IDP CONTENT

As we do every week, when discussing IDP players we reference their fantasy point production using the FantasyPros IDP scoring rubric:

Linebackers

Tyrell Adams vs. Cleveland Browns: START

Tyrell Adams is not being talked enough about this season. This inside linebacker, since taking over for Benardrick McKinney, is the 6th best linebacker in run stopping percentage and is PFF’s number two overall rated tackler on the season. In terms of IDP scoring, he has averaged over the past 4 weeks 14.1 fantasy points per game and slated to be the primary run stopper against Nick Chubb and the Cleveland Browns this week. As the Browns running game goes (and it should), so will Adams’ upside. Fire him up this week!

Tremaine Edmunds vs Arizona Cardinals: SIT

Using 20% of all snaps by a linebacker all season as the cutoff, Tremaine Edmunds isn’t even in the top 50 when it comes to best-rated coverage & tackling linebackers in the NFL. That being said he is getting plenty of tackle volume which accounts for his 11.8 fantasy points per game on the season. However, are you really trust him to make plays against the likes of Kyler Murray & Chase Edmonds in that fast, shift, high powered Cardinals offense this week? No? Good. He’s a fade!

Defensive Backs

Chandon Sullivan vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: START

With the likelihood of Jaire Alexander not playing on Sunday for Green Bay becoming more and more a reality, Chandon Sullivan is slated to slide into Alexander’s role in guarding Jaguars wideout D.J. Chark. Not exactly the shutdown cornerback Chark managers were concerned with heading into this weekend. Look for plenty of targets to go this DBs way making him an excellent volume play for solo tackles & passes defended.

Tracy Walker vs. Washington Football Team: SIT

Even though Tracy Walker was missing off of the Lions finally injury report this week, temper your expectations. Chances are the coaching staff might ease him back into rotation against a Washington team that, outside of Terry McLaurin, have no real deep threats to warrant him being full go. Look for this to be a run-heavy affair for Washington and therefore find a nice spot for Walker on your bench this week!

Defensive Linemen/Edge Rushers

Ifeadi Odenigbo vs. Chicago Bears: START

Ifeadi Odenigbo is in a great matchup against one of the worst pass-blocking units in the entire NFL. On the season, Odenigbo has applied the most pressure in the backfield by a Vikings defender on opposing offenses and is actually quite a talented run-stopper evidenced by his team-leading tackles for a loss, sacks, and quarterback hits on the season. Given how poorly this Bears offensive line has played this season this matchup, from a fantasy perspective, should be a cakewalk for him. FIRE HIM UP!

Cameron Jordan vs. San Fransisco 49ers: SIT

Is Trey Hendrickson still the most productive defensive end on this Saints team? Are teams still trying to scheme away Cameron Jordan?

Yes?

Then move on from him this week!

Thanks for reading, #4EYEDfans!

Good luck in Week 9!
