4-Eyed Observations: Week 7

By: Jorge B. Edwards (@JorgeBEdwards)

Here are my “4-Eyed Observations” from this past weekend that might be of interest to you and for your fantasy team’s success going forward!

Not that Shady…

….minus the Eagles uniform that is.

FantasyInFrames Fantasy In Frames LeSean McCoy Week 7 4-Eyed Observations
Coming off his bye week averaging 9.36 fantasy points per game (fppg) in standard scoring leagues, McCoy showed yesterday that he is the ONLY skill player on the Bills offense outside of tight end and kicker (words I never thought I’d write…thanks a lot, Jordan Matthews and Zay Jones) that quite frankly matter. Facing a Raiders team that’s giving up 20.1 fppg to opposing running backs next week look for the “Real Shady” to please stand up!

2) Alex Okafor is becoming an IDP gem!

While Cameron Jordan is the big name getting recognition in the New Orleans Saints resurgent defense this season, Alex Okafor is starting to accumulate statistics in recent weeks that is making him on par with some of the top defensive lineman in the NFL like Demarcus Lawrence and Jurrell Casey.

Over the past two weeks, he has accumulated 6 total tackles, 2 sacks, & 2 forced fumbles. This defense is only getting better, and with Cameron Jordan commanding attention on the other end of the Saints defensive line look for Okafor to get better and better. Individual Defensive Player (IDP) league managers better start taking note and rostering him before it’s too late.

3) Matt Moore and Jarvis Landry are about to become BEST FRIENDS!

Over the past three weeks Jarvis Landry has put up the following averages:

I’m sorry but did that say 11.7 targets per GAME???

Yes, it did folks. No, I do not think it’s because Jay Cutler suddenly got better, but rather Adam Gase has finally realized it’s probably a good idea to get one of your better offensive playmakers the ball in open space more. Sure missing DeVante Parker in the receiving corps has helped in getting Landry those looks, but the results are undeniable. Combine that with the rapport he had with Matt Moore last season:

If you’re able to acquire Landry via trade, in PPR leagues especially, I would highly recommend doing so now that Matt Moore is quarterbacking the Dolphins.

4) Steve Sarkisian will not last the season as the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons!

Like I knew the Falcons offense would regress some from last year, but

Let’s take a look at the Falcons’ Big 3 through seven weeks of the NFL season thus far:

If I’m the Atlanta Falcons head coach, Dan Quinn, I make a change right now before offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian squanders any more of the talent on my roster.

From a fantasy football perspective, this is not what most of us signed up for/expected when we drafted two of these three players in the first round of our drafts this past summer. Let’s cross our fingers this gets turned around QUICK!

Those are my 4-Eyed Observations From Week 7!
