Here we go! We are rolling into the new 2024 fantasy football season. Here at Fantasy In Frames, we’re looking at some dynasty targets and the best values out there on the market. Let’s take a look at 2024 Dynasty Target: Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Player Overview
Jaxon will be entering his second year in Seattle. While the quarterback situation could be better, the presence of both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett should present many one-on-one matchups for a guy who can flat-move on the field. I think if we see Sam Howell at the helm, this could be a major breakout year for this star.
Player Summary
Looking at all the players around Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I do not see much value at ADP. If we knew right now that Sam Howell was starting over Geno Smith, this would change drastically for me. I feel that Smith had a very average year compared to the 2022 season when he seemed to finally break away from his past.
Trade Value
As I’ve seen in recent trades in various dynasty leagues, I think getting a guy with this kind of upside for a late second or early third is almost criminal. In leagues where I don’t have him and haven’t drafted yet, I’m shooting all kinds of offers that have him involved as I don’t foresee his value going anywhere but up, evidenced by DLF’s recent June ADP. He had a lackluster year with a mediocre quarterback, but Seattle is on its way up and is only a few pieces from being a threat.
I also think that when you consider divisions and teams they’ll be playing, many games can be forecasted to be shootouts in the NFC West. I think it’ll be one of the better divisions to have pieces of, and that list absolutely includes a guy on his way up with two veterans taking a lot of heat.
JSN is a guy that has a ton of speed and ability to break open for big plays despite the fact he didn’t get to showcase that much in 2024. What little flashes we did see, however, were enough to put this guy on my radar in this years draft. When you consider his situation, you’ll likely be on board as well.
