Here is our breakdown of 2023 Dynasty Rookie Prospect: Dalton Kincaid!

Player Overview

Utah Utes Senior Kincaid is a beast at 6’4” and 240lbs.  The 2023 rookie tight end rankings have Notre Dame’s Michael Mayer first, but I’m taking Kincaid.  According to Pro Football Focus, Trevor Sikkema, he has an overall grade of 91.1 and one of the highest pass-catching grade of 92.0.  Last season, he had 890 yards and eight touchdowns.  His 70 receptions were more than double his 2021 receptions.  When the Utes faced #7 USC, he had a monster game of 234 yards and a touchdown, no fumbles, no misses…just powerful football plays.

Fantasy Summary

Do yourself a favor and go watch his tapes. The way his massive body hurdles defenders and spins past to get the extra yardage is impressive. Reminds me of Mark Andrews. Does Mark Andrews put up major PPR and TE premium points, why yes, yes, he does. No reason to think Kincaid cannot do the same. Last season, I was high on Dulcich, while most were stoked about top-ranked McBride. Dulcich missed a few games due to injury, but when he came back, he helped propel fantasy teams and was a wavier wire darling. Those of us that stashed him in dynasty are happy for the future. Of course, it depends on landing spot, but Kincaid, if he stays healthy, can be an immediate starter, not a stash.
Kincaid always seems to find the open space downfield, and when attacking the ball in the air, his body and hands give him the advantage as he comes down with the ball. He should be the second TE off the board in dynasty rookie drafts (don’t mind me taking him first TE). In the NFL 2023 draft, he should get picked in the early 3rd round. Going to the Packers, Lions, or Texans makes sense, but I would love to see him land with Herbert and the Chargers!
