Player Overview
What’s good everybody?! Welcome back to another edition of the Fantasy In Frames redraft target series where I’ll be covering one of my favorite targets in fantasy drafts, Cam Akers. Now, I’m sure you can see the Aaron Donald jersey in the background, and yes I’m a Rams fan, so we can get the “he’s just a homer” comments out of the way. If you stick with me, I want to lay out the reasons why I think you should draft Cam Akers for fantasy football in 2023 regardless if you’re a Rams fan or not.
Fantasy Summary
Now, as far as his redraft value goes – according to FantasyPros half PPR ADP, Cam Akers is the RB22, which makes it pretty easy to see why he’s a redraft target for me this year, because I have him as my RB14, which just as a reminder you can find my full redraft and dynasty rankings on fantasyinframes.com. Now, while I have Cam Akers as my RB14, you don’t have to draft him that early to be able to get him on your team. Pay attention to ADP and how your leaguemates draft, and take advantage of that. If you were to draft Cam Akers where I have him ranked, the RB14 in a typical draft is going to come off the board around the back of the 2nd or beginning of the 3rd round, however Cam Akers isn’t being drafted until the middle of the 4th round. So targeting Cam Akers allows you to add other players you’re also high on in the 2nd and 3rd round, and then grab another 2nd or 3rd round value in the middle of the 4th round.
